I am so excited! I have now completed all the “legs” if you will for an epic cruise vacation. I now have all the hotel nights booked (on points) and the flights booked (on points) and the cruise 100% paid (using tools to save over 50%). I can’t wait to blog about it but for now let’s look back at the last week in May 2025:
Delta loves you! Let me qualify that – Delta love you IF you spend a ridiculous amount of money with the airline. So much so that if you do you could choose to gift, yes gift, Diamond Medallion status to someone. OK then…
Southwest was a unique airline and many fliers loved them for it. Now they charge you for bags but there are ways to still get them for free. We break it and the other changes down.
If you are reading this you most likely hold some flavor of Platinum card. These cards offer credits for tasks. But what tasks work to trigger these credits in 2025? We have the list.
Speaking of Platinum cards there are big changes on the way and some of the perks we have come to know and maybe love are going away. Act fast to harvest what you can before it is too late.
Do you travel with noise canceling headphones? I always do and one of the reasons is for situations just like this – a child was allowed to sing over the PA system on a delayed Delta flight! KILL ME NOW! What a nightmare and this should never have been allowed.
There is a new travel advisory for Italy of all places. Be careful traveling in 2025.
Lastly Chris has a great review of why taking the train between LA and San Diego is better than hopping on a jet. Having grown up in Sweden I always spent time on trains and it really is a nice way to travel.
I hope your weekend is amazing. Mine should be and I think I can, at last, turn off the heat that I have been running most of May and switch over to AC. My patio and grill await me and that makes me happy! – René

“Delta loves you” for now, but it won’t be long before it will become “what have you done ($$) for us lately?”
