It looks like “Real ID” will, after so many years, become a thing when flying domestically. My wife and I have had ours updated for so long that we have actually had a new drivers license issued. I am sure most blog readers also got this done years ago as well. Speaking about things long and not so long ago, take a look at last week on the blog:
First up, if you are a Delta flyer, please check your booked flights. I had a Delta reservation where they had such a massive change that the Delta AI that runs schedule changes moved by flights by a full day! Yup – that bad. I got sweet changes for free and now have the perfect flights I wanted in the first place and saved me a TON of cash (by booking the other flights originally).
Do you have cards that offer quarterly Hilton credits? Many of the old simple ways of cashing in on those are stuck in limbo so I came up with a creative and delicious way of getting mine. You may also be able to try the same thing in or near your own home town. Take a look how.
Speaking of Chase, they have updated their Lyft benefits and more. I know many readers like UBER more but I am a massive LYFT fan and take them whenever I can and I find they are often not just better than UBER but way cheaper as well.
Do you have a card that offers Delta Sky Club guest pass passes? What are all the rules for using them and are there tips to make the most of them? Chris breaks it all down for us this week.
While I am personally flying Delta a lot less that I once was I still book them but in a much different way than before. Since I hold the American Express Business Platinum card I still pick Delta as my $200 years incidental fee credit partner. Using any amount of Delta gift card and then that card to buy a Delta ticket (again, when you have select Delta as your airline of choice) does still trigger this credit. So buying a Delta gift card now and then is smart for me and getting bonus SkyPennies is nice as well when I do. Are you targeted with this 3x-5x offer?
Lastly this week you may have never ever booked an NCL or Norwegian Cruise Lines cruise before. There is a LOT to consider before you do. I break down step by step how to get maximum value when you do in this multi part series.
I hope you have a great and safe weekend everyone. Here in the South Bend area the spring storms have been brutal and we lost power a number of times. I hope things calm down soon or I will have to think about investing in a whole house generator this year! – René
