It is really getting “weird” out there. I mean it seems like space craft are now blowing up every week and risking hitting jets with the leftovers and that is assuming there will be ATC and TSA folks working to get you to the gate. I mean geeezzzz?! Then, after all that, there is the week we covered on the blog as well:
The internet is all a buzz this week over a Delta FA who took an iconic photo of herself up in the overhead bin on an empty Delta jet. She is not the first one, nor the last, who will do this and thankfully the Delta mothership in Atlanta does not mind this kind of playful Delta pride by their employees (at least when the jets are empty). The latest FA to do this is being called the most beautiful FA ever. Do you agree?
Next up, and appropriately so on “spring forward day”, we are talking about Ship Lag. What is that you ask? Depending on the cruise you take you may gain and lose a hour or two or, when it comes to transatlantic sailings, you may do this over and over and over day after day after day. How does this impact you? Take a look.
If I have said it once I have said it 1000x that you should not be paying for your hotel stays with cash but rather with points. One of the best ways to accumulate a bunch of these is via new card offers that are HUGE and this is such a time.
Cruise ship crew work really hard for many months at a time (think 6-8 months for 7 days a week per contract). So what do they do with their time off? Do they get any days off during their time onboard? Our man onboard tells us.
With all the recent aviation issues that sure seem more frequent than the past some folks are really spooked about flying. I get it but are the other choices really safer or less so. Would you rather take a bus?
Who doesn’t love a good “rant” now and then? Chris “goes off” on in-flight game players and some readers even think that American has it right without screens at each seat. You too can sound off what you think.
Lastly today we are all sleepy (see ship lag post again). Not only are we sleepy but some folks, with the time change, may in fact miss their flights. Yikes!
Today I am going to pretend I am on a cruise ship and get out a good book and take a nice long nap this afternoon. I know I know, this is not going to help me get over the time change but this way I can be grumping about it again on Monday – a day I am grumpy already! 🙂 René
