A major hotel brand launched major, limited-time promotions across its suite of credit cards — and two of the offers include not only bonus points but Free Night awards!
Free Nights can be redeemed almost anywhere in the Hilton portfolio. Even expensive, snazzy hotels and all-inclusives! Here’s a list of exceptions — and most are Hilton Grand Vacations locations. (Terms apply to the Free Night award. This information was gathered independently by Eye of the Flyer.)
(Not to make this about myself, but of course, this drops just after I was approved for a new credit card only a couple of weeks ago.) I really want to take advantage of the offers! (Hmmm…maybe Mrs. Carley wants to apply…)
(Terms apply to American Express benefits and offers. Enrollment may be required for select American Express benefits and offers. Visit americanexpress.com to learn more.)
Hilton Honors American Express Card
The no-annual-fee Hilton Honors American Express Card offers 70,000 bonus Hilton Honors points and a Free Night after spending $2,000 in eligible purchases within six (6) months of being approved for the card. This offer expires on April 29, 2025. (Terms apply.) That’s right: a $0 annual fee card with a Free Night as part of its welcome promotion. (See Rates and Fees.)
Points earnings-wise, the card features:
- 7X Hilton Honors bonus points for each dollar of eligible purchases charged directly with hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio
- 5X on purchases at U.S. restaurants
- 5X at U.S. supermarkets
- 5X at U.S. gas stations
- 3X for all other eligible purchases
The card also comes with complimentary Hilton Honors Silver elite status.

Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card
I’m digging this particular promotion.
The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card offers 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points and a Free Night after you spend $3,000 in eligible purchases on the card within the first six (6) months of being approved for card membership. This offer expires on April 29, 2025.
How many points do you earn on eligible purchases?
- 12X Hilton Honors bonus points for each dollar of eligible purchases charged directly with hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio
- 6X on purchases at U.S. restaurants (including takeout and delivery)
- 6X at U.S. supermarkets
- 6X at U.S. gas stations
- 4X on U.S. online retail purchases
- 3X for all other eligible purchases
Let’s say you spend all of the required $3,000 on nothing but “all other eligible purchases.” You’ll earn 9,000 Hilton points in the process. Add those to your 130,000 bonus points and you’ve scored 139k. PLUS your Free Night. But let’s face it: you’ll probably spend your money at places like restaurants, supermarkets, online (hello, Amazon), and gas stations. You’ll earn more than “just” 139,000.
The primary cardholder receives complimentary Hilton Honors Gold elite status — and can dial it up to Diamond after spending $40,000 in eligible purchases during a calendar year. (If that happens, you receive Diamond status for the rest of the remaining calendar year and all of the following year.)

However, cardholders can earn up to $50 in statement credit each quarter for eligible purchases made directly with a property in the Hilton portfolio. Perhaps you can make that work to your advantage.
The card’s annual fee is $150. (See Rates and Fees.)

Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: a Great Card for Hilton Fans
Finally, we come to the biggest personal/consumer offer — and what we think is the best card to hold: the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card (By the way, this isn’t an affiliate link, so we’re not paid a commission. We might get a few Amex points.) But René genuinely loves this card. (All information about the Hilton Aspire Card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer. It was neither provided nor reviewed by the card issuer.)
It’s loaded with benefits:
- The primary cardholder receives complimentary Hilton Diamond status.
- A $400 Hilton resort credit. Earn up to $200 in statement credits semi-annually for eligible purchases made directly with participating Hilton Resorts.
- Earn up to $50 in statement credits each quarter (up to $200 a year) for flight purchases made directly with an airline or through amextravel.com.
- Finally, you get up to $199 in statement credit for a CLEAR Plus membership.
Now, how about that huge welcome promotion?
The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card offers 175,000 bonus Hilton Honors points after spending $6,000 in eligible purchases within three (3) months of being approved for the card. This offer expires on April 29, 2025. (Terms apply.). Read more here on American Express’ website.
The card earns:
- 14X Hilton Honors bonus points for each dollar of eligible purchases charged directly with hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio
- 7X on select travel (including flights booked directly with airlines or AmexTravel.com and car rentals booked directly with select car rental companies)
- 7X on purchases at U.S. restaurants (including takeout and delivery)
- 3X for all other eligible purchases
Again: even if you spend the $6,000 minimum on nothing but 3X purchases (“all other eligible purchases”), you’re earning 18,000 points in organic spending. Add those to your 175,000 bonus and you’re then 193,000 Hilton points richer!
The annual free night and statement credits can easily offset the card’s $550 annual fee. (See Rates and Fees.) And that’s before any free breakfasts that your Diamond status gets you.
Hilton Honors American Express Business Card
If you’re looking for a business version of a Hilton card, here you go: it’s the Hilton Honors American Express Business Card. You can earn 175,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $8,000 in eligible purchases on the card within the first six (6) months being approved. This offer expires on April 29, 2025. (Terms apply.)
The Hilton Honors Business Amex‘s points earnings are:
- 12X Hilton Honors Bonus Points on eligible Hilton purchases.
- 5X Hilton Honors Bonus Points on other purchases made using the Hilton Honors Business Card on the first $100,000 in purchases each calendar year. Then 3X on all other eligible purchases
- 3X on all other eligible purchases.
The card comes with complimentary Gold status — but you can upgrade to Diamond when you spend $40,000 during a calendar year. Its annual fee is $195 (Rates and Fees.)
Final Approach
Two personal Hilton cards offer Free Nights as part of their current promotion: the Hilton Honors American Express Card and surHilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card. The Free Nights can be used at a ton of properties.
The chic Hilton Aspire Card also features a big welcome offer, as does the Hilton Business Amex. Keep in mind these are limited-time offers and they expire in less than two months.
