Is anyone sick of winter yet (everyone raises hands). Ice storms, snow, sleet and yuck. We all should be sitting on the deck of an amazing cruise ship sipping frozen tropical drinks and laughing at winter – right? Maybe that is just me so let’s review the week that was.
Is this THE year you are going to make whatever Delta Medallion level? There is a cheap way (that is, the annual cost of the card(s)) to score a 2500 MQD boost. In fact, by holding four cards, you can jump 10,000 MQDs ahead. Oh, and there is also a HUGE bonus offer of Sky Miles on top of that. Chris breaks it down for us.
Delta, in it’s infinite wisdom, has decided to limit how many visits you get per year or even per Medallion year. Are you confused? You 100% have a right to be! So just how do you go about tracking how many visits you have left and has Delta been deducting the visits correctly? We show you how to find out.
Speaking of Delta Sky Clubs – is there a “best” card to hold to get in? Do you get the same access from all the cards that give you “free” access when flying Delta? Is there a card that is better for some but not for others? Time to find out.
With the merger of FrequentFloaters.com and EyeoftheFlyer.com you have the benefit of a bunch of cruise bloggers here on the site. One of the luxury writers who loves Oceania Cruise lines tells us why when it comes to their ships bigger is better. This is interesting because when it comes to 1st class service this is not always the case. Michael tells us why.
Lastly this week Chris revisits one of the perks of higher Medallion status, that is, HOOU coupons or the “Have One on Us” coupons. They used to be an outstanding perk and especially for those who do not drink adult beverages. Are there ways Delta could improve this small perk. Yes, and see why we say so!
Have a great weekend everyone. I myself am planning ahead for how I am going to navigate 2025 and make the most of each flight, hotel stay and cruise vacation at the lowest cost and best possible perks. While I love travel – planning all my travel can be so much fun on it’s own and helps me deal with the winter blues. Maybe it is the same for you? – Rene

A few years ago, I found one of those old coupons. In SLC, I showed it to a red coat and he demanded I give it to him. Then handed me 5 new ones and said Delta HQ was looking for these oldies for some historical exhibit. Of course, I said “only 4?” He came with “here’s 6 but you have to give them away!” So I did… channeling my inner Rene! (You’d given me one, if you might recall.) I still give them away as I’m usually in C+… you got me started!
@Norris – I gave many to Delta museum but kept one 😉
