I am spending my weekend with old friends and having a blast. The joys of travel, at prices we can afford (hello points), really makes life so much more fun. More on that later on but here is a review of last week and do read to the end because I have a big tip for you Delta flyers today:
Chris spent some time flying this past week and he had a less than shall we say expedited experience using CLEAR recently. It was SO BAD that he said, unless it remains free via card credits, he is dumping the service. Yikes!
Next up we have a family of New York cruisers who, get this, thought it would be smart to fly to a cruise port only a few hours before the ship sailed. As you can guess – it did not go well. But they somehow got all their money back (and more) and are still upset about it? SMH…
Back to my buddy Chris. He is, well at least was, a big fan of the Capital One Lounges. Believe it or not I have never been to one but his recent experience was one for the books. Take a look.
Both Chris and I always hammer over and over that you should consider jumping on mega card offers and especially business card offers (yes almost anyone can get them – and should do so) and the points offers are sweet.
Have you ever transited the Panama Canal? Just what is it like? I have never done this and it is one of my bucket list of things to do. This week Michael has a review and it looks amazing. Have you done this yet?
Lastly Chris found a massive Delta MQD mileage run for those who are still looking to earn their 2025 Delta Medallion (Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond) status and you are doing so mostly in premium cabin.
Now I opened that Delta flyers should read this post to the end. Why? This weekend Delta has yet again rolled out another big “Schedule Change Saturday” and I was able to again save a ton of SkyPennies and have changed a trip to the perfect flights. Be sure to check yours and see if you too can adjust your flights to the ones you really wanted! – René

I flew out of Phoenix last week. Used Clear. I had to do the usual biometrics check with Clear. But PHX has TSA checkpoints with biometric cameras. Like JFK, they require you do a biometric check even though you just went through Clear. Other than cutting the line, what is the point of Clear if I now have to do TWO separate biometric checks?
Same in SFO and most airports now.. Also the random ID check isn’t really RANDOM?
