Our friends at point.me found a great mileage run they want to share with Eye of the Flyer readers!
Miles Jackson — one of the Mileage Run department’s travel bookers — tells us he has many flexible dates between October and November. (Create your free point.me account now!)
This is a Virgin Atlantic-marketed trip from New York-Kennedy (JFK) to Mumbai, India (BOM) booked in Premium Economy fare class “K.” You’ll credit this to your Delta SkyMiles number to earn max Delta Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD)
This sample trip departs JFK on Thursday, November 14. You’ll fly to Atlanta (ATL) on in Comfort+ on a Delta plane. You’ll take another Delta plane and fly to London Heathrow (LHR) in Premium Select. From there, you take a Virgin Atlantic A350 to Mumbai, and arrive late Friday night-early Saturday morning.
You depart on Sunday and travel back to London and then Miami (MIA) in Premium Economy. You end your trip in Delta Comfort+ on Monday when you return to JFK.
The trip currently prices out to $1,526.05. It’s estimated to earn:
- $4,858 MQD (a 3.1X return on your airfare!)
- 19,433 flown miles toward Million Miler tiers
- 29,151 redeemable SkyMiles (before any applicable Medallion bonuses)
Even though there are some Delta-operated flights, you’ll book the mileage run as a Virgin Atlantic trip. Stay away from Delta when purchasing this itinerary!
Like some of the other runs we’ve posted, the departure from and return to work pretty well if you don’t live in the originating city (in this case, New York). You could position to/from NYC.
Are There More Mileage Runs?!
point.me’s Mileage Run department indicated they’re finding some good stuff to a few cities in Asia and Europe. point.me also helps tailor mileage runs to your needs and preferences.
And if you’re worried about making sure everything is booked correctly, just let point.me do all that work. The consulting fee you pay them will be worth your peace of mind. They’ll also monitor your trip for any changes in itineraries. They can also help with hotels and other stuff like that.

Keep in mind.. Most Americans require VISA to enter India. The eVisa does cost much but just know that you need a VISA. Here is Horror…. When I did an Indian Visa a few years ago, the process and the information that they required is lengthy. (I hope it has changed). You have to submit a photo based on Pixel Size (for those who know how to do that it may be easy). You have 2 tries to submit your application. If you fail after the 2nd try, you will have the pay the processing fee again. Oh, there are phony VISA websites that you thought it is authentic, but they are VISA agents – not run by the India government; so find out the actual cost before you waste your time. Finally, beware…. DON”T DRINK THE WATER!!!!! Only Bottle water. Our stomach works differently then the locals.
I don’t understand the MQD math here. Can you please explain?
Hi, Rachel — check out this post.
