Ever since Delta Air Lines massively retooled how people earn Medallion elite status, finding great mileage runs has become more difficult. Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM) are gone. Medallion Qualification Dollar (MQD) earnings on partner airlines were reduced.
But we still want to find something that’s potentially worth it for at least a few people.
If you’re chasing a Delta Million Miler status tier, based on the East Coast (or can get there), and need a reason to visit Hawaii for a long weekend this December, we have you covered. (Maybe you have a hotel credit card or five and need to burn some annual anniversary nights!)
We found a Delta trip departing Boston (BOS) on Thursday, December 5, and arriving in Kahului, Maui, that night around dinner time. You can enjoy Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the island (or visit another Hawaiian island) before departing Monday afternoon around lunch. You get back to Boston the following morning.
According to the Great Circle Mapper, this trip travels 11,036 miles. Based on the current price of $591.41, that’s a return of 5.4 CPM if you’re chasing Million Miler tiers. I understand this is a Main Cabin trip but if you have some Upgrade Certificates to use, this might be a great opportunity. Plus, it’s a long weekend.
Book Soon
Deals tend to disappear soon after we blog mileage runs. Why?
- The airline hikes the price ASAP, or
- Lots of people book the trip, or
- Both of the above
