I landed at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas a few nights ago and noticed a welcome sight: branding for the long-awaited Capital One Lounge at its future home!

Where Will the Las Vegas Capital One Lounge Be Located?
The D gates at Harry Reid’s Terminal 1 will be home to the Capital One Lounge in Las Vegas.
More specifically, it’s at the start of the D31-43 (Delta) and D50-59 (United) concourses. That’s especially great news for Delta Air Lines travelers. There’s no Delta Sky Club at LAS (though rumors persist that Vegas will eventually get a Delta lounge). People with certain American Express cards can enter the Centurion Lounge, which is also in the same general area, though entry conditions vary.
But it’s also good news for people who fly other airlines. As someone who flies Southwest from Vegas several times a year, this gives me another option. (Southwest’s B and C gates are a quick tram ride away, though your actual gate location could be a 5- or 15-minute walk.)
Branding covers glass that will look out into the D gate area rotunda.
An opening date isn’t yet known.
What’s So Great About the Capital One Lounges?
Capital One Lounges (run by Plaza Premium) have received rave reviews since opening in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Washington-Dulles, and Denver.
They feature buffet and restaurant dining-style options. The latter allows visitors to order freshly cooked meals from a menu. I’ve also heard good things about their beverage program.
My schedule finally permits me to visit a Capital One Lounge in a few weeks. I’m eager to report back to you!
Who Can Access Capital One Lounges?
Unlike almost every other airport club, anyone traveling on a same-day flight can enter a Capital One Lounge. It doesn’t matter which airline you’re flying with, whether you’re flying in coach or a premium class, or even if you have a certain credit card.
However, the amount you pay and the number of guests you can bring in for free depending on which credit card you hold (if any).
- Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business members and up to two guests can enter the lounges for free.
- Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business holders receive two complimentary visits to Capital One Lounges or Plaza Premium Lounges, which they must use by December 31, 2024.
- After those are used (or expire), Venture and Spark Miles cardholders and their guests can enter Cap One Lounges for a discounted rate of $45 per person.
- All other travelers can enter for $90 each — whether or not they have a credit card.
The Platinum Card® from American Express members receive complimentary access to certain Plaza Premium lounges. Capital One Lounges are excluded.
Chase announced several years ago it would open one of its gorgeous Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club somewhere in the C gates. I’ll believe it when I see it.
This Could Get Interesting for Airport Lounge Wars
My family and I flew out of Las Vegas twice recently because it’s becoming one of our “home” airports — even though we live in Los Angeles.
Both times, we visited the American Express Centurion Lounge for meals before departure. I hold the Amex Platinum Card and my wife is an additional cardholder for $195 a year. (Rates & Fees.) Our cards get each of us into the Centurion Lounges for free. However, our daughter incurs a $30 charge as a child guest. (Rates & Fees.) So, we spent $60 for decent food (and a couple of adult beverages). That’s much better — we think — than eating at most airport restaurants twice.
But because I hold the Venture X Card, both my wife and daughter can enter as my guests for free. (More on that in a moment.) Plus, the Venture X Card‘s annual fee is $395 vs. both the Amex Platinum Card and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, which both have $695 annual fees. (Rates & Fees for the Amex Platinum Card. Rates & Fees for the Amex Business Platinum Card.)
Several credit cards feature Priority Pass Select membership or guest pass features (including Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business) There are two The Club airport lounges in Vegas, including one on Delta’s concourse. So, it’ll also be interesting to see how those locations are affected.

Let’s Not forget… I THINK… With the Delta AMEX Reserve card, cardholders can use the Centurion Lounge IF the ticket is paid for with the AMEX card. Since LV airport has a Centurion Lounge, technically, Delta passengers can access it if the ticket is paid with their AMEX card.
You’re correct. The Delta ticket doesn’t have to be paid with the Reserve — just an Amex card issued in the U.S. A perk, tho, of the Venture X and Venture X Business cards is two guests can enter Cap One Lounges for free. (I just paid $30 each visit for my kiddo to enter the Centurion Lounge.)
I saw your article did not list an opening date. I heard it was supposed to be open in 2024, but we are rapidly running out of year (it is essentially September!).

Yeah. And still don’t know when the Chase Sapphire Lounge is opening in the C gates. And I keep hearing rumors about a Delta Sky Club in LAS, too.
