What a crazy week this has been and I so feel for you if you were impacted by the complete disaster Delta caused (yes, after Sunday it was Delta’s fault – clearly)! It will be interesting to see what changes they make once the CEO flies back home from Paris. Oh and there was other important things afloat:
- Speaking of afloat Frequent Floaters blog has a new home port if you will, that is, here at Eye of the Flyer. Why did we merge the two blogs at one site? Here is why.
- The American Express® Gold Card has had a big new refresh. Just what changed and will you be happy with them? Take a look.
- In the middle of the Delta mess week they continue to push the idea that a Delta SkyMile is only worth 1 cent, that is, we can now firmly know they think their travel currency is a SkyPenny. Here is the proof.
- Delta pilots, on a number of pilots travel boards as well as other public boards, have been quick to share how upset they are about what happened to Delta last week. Many are now calling for the CEO to be fired. Let’s just say they did not hold back how they feel about this week that wasn’t!
- A cruise ship is an amazing floating resort with so much fun to see and do. But there are dangers at sea and a guest on the MSC cruise, due to of all things a deck chair, had a finger amputated. Yikes.
- Let me ask you – would 12,500 Delta SkyMiles be enough to make up for your canceled flights from last week? What about even less? Vote now in our blog poll.
- United States Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg took the time to read some mean tweets about Delta impacted fliers from last week. It is both really funny and sad at the same time. It is worth a watch.
- Delta, after many days of pressure, finally sorta said “we are sorry” and will now cover reasonable expenses you suffered including other airline tickets to get where you needed to go. I hope you saved your receipts.
- Was last week’s Delta total meltdown too much? Are you done with Delta after missing funerals, vacations, weddings and more? Some are saying never again Delta. Is this you too?
- HURRY! Time has almost run out on your chance to score a ton of hotel points. How many you ask? How does nearly 200k sound! I love to stay for free when I travel.

My daughter and her 4 yo soon were stuck at the Atlanta airport last Friday for 17 hours before they made their flight from ATL to TPA. They were only offered snacks and no meal vouchers while at the airport. Then they were only offered $100 ecredits.
Really unacceptable!
