Back in the day (like, seven years ago), several lounges at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) participated in the Priority Pass program.
Now, there are none. We speculate that the new Air France lounge opening next month will welcome Priority Pass members.
But now we have word that another is on the way — and it should be pretty darn grand.

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at LAX!
Chris Dong writes in the Los Angeles Times that a Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is in the works for LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal. (I guess the Times is actually good for something besides its sports section. Who knew?)
Mr. Dong says the 9,234-square-foot club will be near gate 148, which is in the “main” TBIT. (In other words, not the satellite terminal where the Air France lounge is.) Gate 148 is close to the Korean Air Lounge.
For those familiar, that’s off the great hall. Because LAX is now fully connected by post-security walkways, people can access it from any terminal (Delta’s T3 and American’s T4 are the closest).
I attended previews for both the Boston and New York-LaGuardia locations. Both are gorgeous, feature amazing food, tasty beverages, and wellness centers.
“Based on renderings,” Mr. Dong says, “the premium Chase space will feature expansive tarmac views — a first for a lounge in TBIT’s main concourse — along with a dramatic waterfall-style chandelier above a granite and wood bar.”
I really look forward to this lounge. I’m curious which local chefs and mixologists will be part of the menu’s creation?
Who Can Enter the Chase Sapphire Lounges?
Chase Sapphire Reserve®, The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card, or J.P. Morgan Reserve® members who activate their card’s Priority Pass Select membership and present their card upon entry have unlimited access. They may also bring up to two guests. (All information about the J.P. Morgan Reserve® and The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card was gathered independently by Eye of the Flyer. It was neither provided nor reviewed by the card issuer.)
People with Priority Pass memberships from other cards (i.e., Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and Capital One Venture X Business) receive one complimentary Chase Sapphire Lounge visit per calendar year. After that, it’s $75 per visit. Guests are also $75 a pop.
Like Delta Sky Clubs, American Express Centurion Lounges, and The Club locations, you aren’t able to enter the lounge until three hours before your flight’s departure time.
When Will the Chase Lounge at LAX Open?
There’s no public timetable for the club’s opening. We’ve heard forever about a Chase Lounge opening at Harry Reid Las Vegas International Airport (LAS) but that hasn’t happened yet, so who knows.
That said, Chase has done a decent job of opening lounges on the East Coast. They have locations in Boston, New York-JFK, New York-LaGuardia, and Washington Dulles (IAD).
Final Approach
LAX will be home to a Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club. We don’t know when it will open. But it should be available to Priority Pass members, which is great — especially for Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders.
