A group of protestors glued themselves to a runway, causing flights to be canceled or diverted and temporarily closing the airport.
Fox News’s Timothy H.J. Nerozzi reports that six climate activists breached a security perimeter at Germany’s Munich International Airport on Saturday.
Mr. Nerozzi said about 60 flights were canceled and another 14 were diverted. The airport briefly suspended operations before reopening.
He writes that the group claims they were trying “to draw attention to the German government’s inaction on the airline industry’s environmental impact.”
Diverting flights can cause planes to use more fuel than planned. Nice job there, climate activists.
The problem causers were eventually arrested. No word yet on what charges they will face.
I know protestors do block roadways and runways to call media attention to their cause of choice, but forcing people to miss work, medical appointments and procedures, trips, etc., isn’t the way to convert people. (And affected parties may have legal recourse.)
Here’s hoping travelers eventually get where they’re going without too much delay.

Why didn’t they clear the planes for landing and solve the problem?
I’d hate for planes to be damaged by speed bumps, tho.
Funny.
Krazy glue crazies!
