It seems several Delta Air Lines passengers in New York City also enjoyed a windfall because of Ms. Swift’s shows this weekend — which are in Sweden.
$7,000 Bump Offers
Passengers on Delta flight 204 from New York-Kennedy (JFK) to Stockholm, Sweden (ARN) was apparently oversold on Thursday. Delta reportedly offered $7,000 for some passengers to take a later flight.
“DL204 was just offering $7000 to get bumped,” Redditor mb2299 wrote on Thursday. “Taylor Swift effect, oversold by 10+ seats. Rebooking options would miss the concerts.”
Ms. Swift is playing a trio of concerts this weekend in Solna, Sweden, which is in the Stockholm area. Her Swedish dates opened Friday night and continue through Sunday.
I’m guessing the flight had a bunch of passengers heading to Friday night’s opener. Or ticketholders for other shows couldn’t be accommodated until a few days later (or just didn’t want to take the risk). The flight ended up departing about 45 minutes late. No word on how many passengers took Delta up on their offer — or if anyone had to be involuntarily denied boarding.
“My friend and I were there,” ShoulderSnuggles reported. “We counted 12 gate agents working that flight. Hats off to them, really.”
“I need to figure out her tour schedule and just start booking flights on those dates. I could make a whole business out of this,” YMMV25 quipped.

I am in Stockholm for the Taylor Swift concert nights this year. Hotel room availability using points for each of the nights has been much easier this year than at around this time last year when Beyoncé was playing here in Stockholm. Speaking of booking within 0-7 days of stay.

I was in Stockholm during the week, but decided to stick around for the weekend to use the concert shows to catch up with local and visiting family, friends and other acquaintances.
The JFK-ARN flight left early enough on Thursday that there were plenty of options to fly out from JFK later that evening and connect in various places and make it to Stockholm early enough to make it to the Friday night concert. And the walkable airport hotels at ARN had plenty of room on Friday and Saturday night and are pretty conveniently located to check-in and then head directly to the concert. I would have taken the $7k in bump compensation and even easily made my own way to here in Stockholm in time for the concert on Friday night. Even the tickets for tonight were relatively cheap this morning on the secondary market if not needing more than 2 seats together per person seeking to attend the concert under all circumstances.
Like anything .. supply & demand. Of course I would take 7K. Couldn’t care less about TS
Yep, if google flights showed other flights available that would get me near ARN within 24 hours, I would have gladly taken $7k, and then offered my concierge travel services to my fellow pax for another $1-$2k per
