The iconic The Platinum Card® from American Express is celebrating its 40th birthday — and marked the occasion by dropping several travel-oriented Amex Offers for cardholders.
(Terms apply to American Express benefits and offers. Enrollment may be required for select American Express benefits and offers. Visit americanexpress.com to learn more.)
Manual enrollment is required for all of the below offers. Also, they’re available only to members who applied for the card before April 20, 2024.
Delta Amex Offer: $40 Statement Credit
Amex Platinum Card members can earn a one-time $40 statement credit when using their card to spend at least $180 in one or more purchases for Delta-marketed flights booked through Amex Travel. Pay very close attention to those last four words: “booked through Amex Travel.”
The offer does not apply to purchases made directly with Delta and will not work with other online travel agencies. You must book your ticket through Amex Travel. You’ll still earn your Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD) and redeemable SkyMiles as long as you add your SkyMiles number to the reservation.
The offer expires on July 5, 2024.
You’ll also earn 5X on the purchase: The Platinum Amex awards 5X points on flights booked directly with airlines or with American Express Travel (on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year.
JetBlue Amex Offer: $50 Statement Credit
Continuing with our airfare Amex Offers, Platinum Card members can earn a one-time $50 statement credit when spending a minimum of $200 in one or more purchases directly with JetBlue. The offer expires on August 6, 2024.
This seems pretty easy for JetBlue travelers to use. JetBlue Vacations purchases also qualify. Airfare purchased directly with JetBlue, plus in-flight purchases, baggage, pets, cancellation and change fees, and business and group travel are all eligible!
Airfare must be purchased via one of three methods:
- jetblue.com
- the JetBlue app
- calling 1-800-JETBLUE
Qualifying flights must originate in the United States.
Hilton Amex Offer: Earn $40 Statement Credit
Now that you’ve taken your Delta or JetBlue flight, you need somewhere to stay, right? 🙂 Your Platinum Card offers a one-time $40 statement credit when you spend $180 on one or more purchases. The terms state the offer is valid “on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay at participating Hilton properties from 5/8/2024 to 7/31/2024.”
Qualifying reservations must be made one of three ways:
- Hilton.com
- the Hilton Honors app
- calling 1-800-445-8667
If you already have a Hilton stay booked, it sounds like you can use your Amex Platinum Card to pay for incidentals and still qualify for the statement credit (assuming you spend at least $180).
Hilton Grand Vacations purchases, gift cards, Advance Purchase, Save Now & Pay, and Non-refundable rates are excluded.
Oceania Cruises Amex Offer: Up to 40,000 Bonus Points
You can score a ton of Membership Rewards® points if you need to spend up to $4,000 on an Oceania Cruise purchase.
Platinium Card members can earn 10 additional points per each dollar spent on qualifying cruise reservation purchases through July 8, 2024. (That’s a total of 11X per dollar spent, considering the purchase will also earn a base of 1X). A 40,000-point cap applies.
Qualifying reservations must be made through
- oceaniacruises.com
- calling 855-623-2642
