A Hampton Inn in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, apparently suffered major damage after a tornado and other severe weather barrelled through the region on Monday night.
According to Fox Weather, a tornado estimated to be at least EF-3 strength (read: pretty bad) struck the small town about 40 minutes from Tulsa.

I grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and experienced tornado sirens sounding for real emergencies only a few times. But as most people who’ve been in severe weather situations when sirens go off can attest, the dread and terror of hearing them always bring a sick pit to your stomach—even if it’s on television or the internet.
Storm chaser and photographer Aaron Rigsby posted some crazy images today — including some showing 2×4 pieces of wood that seemed “like missiles.”

I am a big fan of Ryan Hall, who broadcasts live on YouTube during major severe weather. I had his channel — Ryan Hall Y’all — on while I worked last night and followed along as the awful weather plowed into the Midwest. (I’ve also been able to warn family members and friends about dangerous storms just by watching his channel — before they heard anything from local media or officials.) If you like in an area prone to severe weather, I highly recommend you subscribe to his channel.
He also used his internet popularity for a good cause. He started the “Y’all Squad,” a 501c(3) non-profit to which my wife and I have donated. The Y’all Squad:

Our focus is on supporting local communities by way of rapid response from our team members closest to the area. We aim to be some of the first people on the scene after a tornado, hurricane, or other weather event that says ‘what can we do to help?’
His team of storm chasers are frequently out of their vehicles and helping people in affected areas within minutes after a storm.
