I think I’m in love.
During a recent trip to Atlanta, I stayed at two different hotels. The first night was the Kimpton Overland. The second night’s stay was at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel — and it’s now one of my favorite hotels.
I specifically chose it because I had it was 24,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for a Saturday night stay and near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. (My commitments during this trip were all near the airport). I also hold complimentary Gold Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy as a perk of both The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express (enrollment is required).
Where is the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel?
You’ll find the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Hotel at One Hartsfield Center Pkwy, Atlanta, Georgia, 30354. It’s on ATL’s north side and across the street from a Delta Air Lines aircraft pad.
The Delta campus is a short walk away, too.
A shuttle runs to and from the Atlanta airport.
Inside the Hotel
I found the hotel itself rather picturesque.
There are aviation-themed touches everywhere. Even the elevators have walls designed to resemble airplane skin!
Arrival and Check-in
When I checked in, the receptionist was very welcoming. She said I was assigned a city-view room. I asked if there was any way I could get something looking at the airport; she tapped a few keys and made it happen.
I put my Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card down for any incidentals charged to my room.
King Room
Here’s a great selling point if you love airplanes: rooms have balconies overlooking a Delta airlines maintenance and parking pad.
Here are some views from the balcony in my seventh-floor room.
I sat outside and enjoyed watching planes land and take off from ATL’s runways. I also saw various aircraft being tugged to and from the pad. There were different engine tests being performed an A350-900 and a 767-300.
The windows do a fantastic job of reducing noise. Even when the planes were spooling up their massive engines during various tests, the noise was kept a fairly low hum inside the room.
I found the rest of the room nice and bright.
The bed was very comfortable. I wish the pillows were slightly firmer, but I don’t have any major complaints.
Here’s a big plus: the air conditioning absolutely gushed cool air (because I set the thermostat to 67 degrees). I loved it when a hotel room’s HVAC actually works!
Each side of the bed’s headboard has electrical outlets and USB-A ports for charging.
One side of the bed features a clock radio with two USB-A ports.
There’s a bank of electrical outlets above the work desk and just next to the television.
The bathroom has a tub-shower combination with refillable toiletries. The water pressure was very good.
Concorde Bar and Grill
I ate both an afternoon snack and late night meal at Concorde, the Renaissance’s bar and grill. Both experiences were quite different.
I bellied up to the bar around 2:30 PM on Saturday. I was only the second customer in the joint. It took the bartender ten minutes to make me an Old Fashioned. (Which wasn’t very good.)
I was attending a party later in the afternoon and didn’t want a full-on meal. So, I opted for one of my favorite appetizers: pork potstickers!
The pot stickers were delicious. But here’s my gripe: the platter was $18, and they gave me only four pot stickers?
The manager came by to check on me and ask how I enjoyed everything. I told him I was disappointed that there were only four potstickers on the platter.
“You know what? I think we have some more cooking in the back,” he said. “Let me see what we can do.”
Excellent!
About four minutes later, the bartender walked up to me with a small dish and apologized.
“I’m so sorry, sir,” she said. “One of your potstickers fell off the tray as we were bringing it out to you.”
And she gave me one more potsticker. I expected maybe two or three. But five potstickers for $18 is pretty lame.
However, the restaurant manager contacted me later and said he took 50% off the potstickers as a way of apologizing for any inconvenience. I sincerely appreciated that kind gesture.
Some friends staying at the hotel and I were hungry later that night and returned to Concorde. The place was much busier. We were shown a table next to the window and enjoyed more great views of Delta jets.
I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and fries — both of which were delicious. I was thirsty and just stuck to water. One of my friends ordered some kind of strawberry mule and said it was very good.
The servers were running their tails off. But they always were quick with water or soda refills and to check on us.
Final Approach
I really enjoyed the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel. Unless I need to be elsewhere in the Atlanta area, I’ll make an effort to stay there (assuming the rates are good).
The food prices are a little steep — but it’s an airport hotel near the Delta campus. (Delta employees receive a 20% discount). So, I think those are a couple of factors.
Have you stayed at the ATL Renaissance Concourse? What did you think?

I stayed there a few years ago for the Delta Jet Pull. There was a nice reception with apps and then went to dinner with friends there. Food decent but the room and inside areas looked a little tired at the time. Maybe it has had a tune-up as your pix looked better than I remembered. I had a room with a balcony and a few of the runway which was great.
Yes, 8 have stayed there as well. It is a great hotel and most for AVGeeks.
