Three travel rewards cards — all of which we personally hold and use — dropped new, increased welcome offers!
We’re talking about hiked up bonuses for the:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
75,000 Points: Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card
Two very popular Chase cards — the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® — just cranked up their welcome offers.
Each card offers 75,000 bonus Chase Ultimate Rewards® points after you spend $4,000 on eligible purchases within three (3) months of being approved for card membership.

Both cards previously offered 60,000 bonus points for the same $4,000 spending.
My wife loves her Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve®
The Chase Ultimate Rewards® program is great because of the myriad ways you can redeem points.
Plus, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card can apply points at 1.25 cents each (as opposed to a penny per) when purchasing travel through Chase Travel℠. Chase Sapphire Reserve® can redeem them at 1.5 cents each for those travel purchases!
Not to mention, Hyatt, IHG, and Marriott are all hotel transfer partners.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve®‘s annual fee is $550 — but comes with plenty of travel benefits. Card members can earn up to $300 back each anniversary year for eligible travel purchases. And a lot of stuff qualifies, in my experience: parking (lots, meters, etc), airfare, hotels, rideshares, etc.
Plus, CSR holders can take advantage of a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership and visit the growing network of gorgeous Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club.

The $95/year Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card doesn’t have all the travel benefits its Reserve sibling does — but it’s loaded with better points-earnings on everyday purchases, such as 3X on dining, online grocery purchases, and streaming purchases. The CSP also gives cardholders an annual 10% bonus on all purchases made during the previous anniversary year (at a rate of 1 point for each $1 spent).

Are You Eligible for the Chase Sapphire Offers?
Here’s the language, per Chase:
“The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. (Bold mine.) If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products.”
5/24?
The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® are subject to “5/24.”
That’s the colloquial term for Chase’s practice of automatically declining any applicant who’s been approved for five or more personal/consumer cards from any issuer within the past 24 months. (Business credit card approvals do not count toward 5/24, though Chase does take people’s personal 5/24 activity into consideration during the business card application process.)
150,000 Bonus Points: The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
The Business Platinum Card® from American Express offers new members 150,000 bonus American Express® Membership Rewards® points after you spend $20,000 on eligible purchases on the card within the first three (3) months of being approved for card membership. Terms apply.. The previous offer was 120,000 points for $15,000 during the first three months. Learn here how to apply for the 150k offer now.
(Terms apply to American Express benefits and offers. Enrollment may be required for select American Express benefits and offers. Visit americanexpress.com to learn more.)
The card’s annual fee is $695 (Rates and Fees) but I’ve written about how I come out way ahead of that every year.
The Amex Business Platinum‘s 35% Airline Bonus (Pay With Points Rebate) is the reason we hold the card — and probably will as long as Amex includes the benefit. Cardholders can earn back 35% of Membership Rewards points used to pay for all or part of an eligible flight booked with American Express Travel. Up to 1 million points per calendar year can be earned back. (Enrollment is required and terms apply.)
I also like the $120 Wireless Telephone Service Credit: Earn up to $10 back in statement credits each month on eligible purchases made directly with a U.S. wireless (cell phone) service provider. (Enrollment is required and terms apply.)
I usually pay $10 of my monthly cell phone bill with my Amex Business Platinum and the balance on my Ink Business Cash® Credit Card. (The Ink Cash earns 5% bonus cashback/5X points on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases each account anniversary year on internet, cable, and phone services and at office supply stores. Then 1%):
Some of the other Business Platinum Amex‘s other benefits, features, and statement credit opportunities include:
- Complimentary access to airport lounges
- American Express Centurion Lounges when traveling with a confirmed seat on a same-day flight
- Delta Sky Clubs when traveling on a same-day Delta-operated or -marketed flight.
- Escape Lounge by Centurion Suites (with up to two guests) when traveling on a same-day flight
- Priority Pass Select membership (enrollment required)
- $200 Airline Fee Credit: Select one qualifying airline and then receive up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year when incidental fees are charged by the airline to your card. (Enrollment is required.) Read this post for more information.
- $189 CLEAR® Plus Credit: Receive up to $189 in statement credits each calendar year for CLEAR Plus membership costs charged to your card. (Enrollment required. Taxes and fees not eligible. Terms apply)
- $100 Global Entry Credit: Receive either a $100 statement credit every four (4) years for a Global Entry application fee or a statement credit up to $85 every 4.5 years for a TSA PreCheck® (through a TSA official enrollment provider) application fee. (Terms apply.) Global Entry comes with TSA PreCheck and is the better value, in our opinion. So many travel credit cards offer this benefit — keep in mind you can “gift” it to someone else.
- Fine Hotels + Resorts: Enjoy early check-in and room upgrades (when available), daily breakfast for two (valued at up $60 total each day), a resort or spa credit (varies by property), and guaranteed late check-out. (Terms apply.)
- Complimentary Gold Elite Status with Marriott Bonvoy (enrolment required.)
- Complimentary Gold Elite Status with Hilton Honors (enrollment required.)
- $400 Dell Technologies Credit: Earn up to $200 in statement credits from January through June, then another $200 from July through December on eligible purchases made with Dell Technologies. Read this post that explains the benefit a little better. (Enrollment is required and terms apply.)
- $150 Adobe Credit: Earn up to $150 in statement credits each calendar year for eligible annual prepaid business plan purchases with Adobe on Creative Cloud for teams or Acrobat Pro DC with e-sign for teams. Note that personal or individual plans (i.e., “only for Photoshop”) are not eligible. (Enrollment is required and terms apply.)
- $360 Indeed Credit: Earn up to $90 per quarter in statement credits for eligible purchases made with Indeed. (Enrollment is required and terms apply.)
