There is dumb – and then there is really dumb. I can not tell you how many times I have seen passengers do things that, if caught, could end up with serious implications for them. Take for example the idiot who smoked on my last NCL cruise – not only against the rules but put us all in danger.

This past week an angler, on a Carnival cruise, thought it would be fun to go fishing off of his balcony while the ship was at port.
Oh my!
Not only was he dumb enough to do this but then to upload it so millions of people could see him and identify him? You can guess what happened next as posted on Kark.com
“Fishing from our ships is prohibited,” a representative for the company wrote in an emailed statement shared with Nexstar on Wednesday. “We have identified the guests and they will not be cruising on Carnival again.” – Kark.com
Well good for Carnival for not letting this go and banning this fisherman for life. Then again he can try this stupid stunt again on any number of other cruise lines so I guess he has that going for him.

People are brandishing weapons, knocking down things and people in airports, rioting on cruise ships, pitching fits on airplanes, threatening personnel and strangers in hotels and more disgusting things than I can recall off the top of my head. Most of them aren’t punished much, if at all. So banning someone for life because he ‘fished off his balcony in a port’? Really??? It’s no wonder the travel world is so goofy, this hardly seems like more than something to laugh at. Tell the guy to cut it out, go on about your business.
