When it comes to getting to and from your cruise there may be lots of choices or only a few. On landing at the airport you may have an airport shuttle to your hotel but then what?
Depending on where your cruise departs from, like Miami, the hotel itself may have a service they recommend, but it could result in a packed, many passenger mini van with a trailer attached to cram in all your and your fellow guests’ luggage. Often this is the cheapest option but not really a great way to begin a relaxing cruise adventure.
The cruise line may offer you transport. The pro of this type of service is most cruise lines are thus guaranteeing to get you to the ship but the price may be much higher than other choices and may again be a bus and include a lot of waiting around time or driving to a number of locations to pick up other guests.
Depending where in the world you are there may be more personal choices like Uber, Lyft, Cabify or Welcome Pickups that can get you to your ship without being crammed together. Plus the price and service is much more personal and can be the quickest option.
For me the choice I most times turn to when available in my departure / arrival city, is Welcome Pickups. I have used their service any number of times and have found them to be very reliable and the service outstanding. You will always have a driver meeting you face to face with your name on a sigh at the airport (they track your flight when you provide it) and you get updates via the app where to meet your driver as well the choice to message the driver.
The cars are clean and the drivers really go over and above to provide you with great service. Let me give you one extreme example you can read more about that I posted here. The short version of the story is we had arrived in Buenos Aries after a cruise and needed a ride to the airport. Unfortunately there were 4 million people in the streets (including the highway to the airport) to celebrate the World Cup football victory. My driver did not simply cancel my ride but did what it took to get me to the airport in time for my flight – this is the service you can expect from Welcome Pickups. – René
