Chris was the first one to alert me to INKIND quite a while back. I was less than excited about the program, at the time, because the nearest restaurant near me participating with INKIND was in Chicago.

Now I do visit Chicago now and then so when all kinds of sweet AMEX offers started popping up where I could spend $50 and get $50 back I went to work. The reason I have so many is because I have a number of Bluebird accounts and they, like my normal Amex cards that also had the offer as well as my wife, had the chance to add the offer. My hundreds of dollars of credits sat for a long time until the Chicago Seminars rolled around this past October and that is the first time I really got to give INKIND a workout. We started at the CityWorks and enjoyed a nice lunch for free (other than tips).

Fast forward to just recently when I was in Fort Lauderdale to join the Holland America Eurodam for my “free” cruise and I again took advantage of my INKIND credit to visit The Brio. What a treat that was:

This post is not just a foodie review of all the nice places that are part of INKIND but I also wanted to share some tips (after you join the program). There are a number of ways to get lots of credits for sizable discounts.

The first tip I have for you is to, when you are looking at restaurant options you like, always look at the menu for the restaurant in the INKIND app. For me, with the BRIO, I was offered an additional $25 off and that stacked on top of all the other offers I already had going for me. While these offers will not always pop up it is worth a click to see (and stack).

The next offer live (at least at the time of posting) is if you have a Costco membership that you can buy a $100 e-Gift card credit for 30% off. That is a sweet deal and I will be adding some to my account (there is a limit of 10 fyi). There is still more.

Again live at the time of posting is the spend $250 of INKIND credits and they give you a $100 bonus that you have 3 years to spend.

Bottom line if you are able to get the new user credit, a restaurant “menu” check credit and buy a Costco gift card and the spend $250 get $350 offer you are getting $500 in credit for just $320!

It is worth checking if you have any credit cards that are also offering INKIND credits for spend before you do buy any of the above as it could save you even more. – René
