If you’re not yet a member of Rakuten, you can sign up using our referral link (thank you!). Simply spend at least a cumulative $40 or more in one or more qualifying purchases during shopping sessions you initiate through Rakuten. You’ll receive a $40 bonus on top of whatever cash back you earn on your purchases. You have 90 days from the time you sign up to complete the “challenge.”
(You can opt to receive American Express® Membership Rewards® points instead of cash back.)

You earn $40 for each person you refer to Rakuten — as long as they spend at least $40 total on eligible purchases within 90 days of signing up.
You can refer your spouse, significant other, aunts, uncles, parents, in-laws, co-workers, whoever.
For example, I originally joined through Rene’s Rakuten referral link. Then my wife used my link to sign up. Then she sent her link to her parents.
Get Ready for Black Friday Sales?
Black Friday is only a few days off and many online retailers will offer specials. You can still earn Rakuten cash back on those specials.
Amex Platinum cardholders: keep your eyes peeled for Saks Fifth Avenue bonuses from Rakuten. (I know they ran a 10% back promotion yesterday.) That’s great for stacking with your semi-annual Saks Fifth Avenue $50 statement credit opportunity.
