The restaurant app inKind is back with another Amex Offer.
This one gives you a $100 statement credit for spending $100 on a one-year inKind subscription.
Basically, you end up with a free inKind subscription for a year, $100 in spending on your selected Amex, and the applicable bonus points. You don’t receive any upfront dining credit. But the inKind subscription gets you 20% back when using inKind to pay for your bill.
What is inKind?
inKind is a restaurant reservation and payment app. (Reservations are made through OpenTable, which is accessible through inKind.) You can buy credit to pay your checks at participating restaurants — but you get a bonus. For example, buy $259 and get $300 total to spend. When you take into consideration the subscription’s 20% back, you can save some extra cash.
If you’re not yet an inKind member, you can sign up through our referral link and get $25 free when you spend $50 or more at any restaurant and pay your bill using the inKind app.
Not all restaurants accept inKind — but there are far more now than when the app launched its first Amex Offer. (We love Buca di Beppo and many locations accept inKind. René and I sampled several inKind-participating restaurants in Chicagoland during the Chicago Seminars. I used inKind for my wife’s birthday dinner at a sushi restaurant.)
If you live in or travel to major cities, inKind can come in helpful.
Tips are not included in your inKind payments at restaurants.
Should You Sign Up for the inKind Subscription Amex Offer?
It’s essentially a free $100 in spending and points. I live somewhere where there are a bunch of inKind restaurants, so my family will use it. Will we extend it past a year? I don’t know. But if you’re looking for a decent discount on special meals, this could be something worth exploring.

When you say major, what you mean is huge. I checked and this is useless for me. It doesn’t do international, it has 2 restaurants in the Hartford area, which is a major city, and everything else is well over an hour away. It doesn’t even have Montreal, which is a huge foodie city. I don’t see this lasting.
Thanks for the heads up. One kink with this, the T&C says they won’t apply the 20% discount against pre purchased credit. We’ll see how that plays out.
