We’re almost there: an unprecedented weekend of the 2023 Chicago Seminars. I’m excited to see some longtime friends meet new ones, too!
As many folks know, there are three Chicago Seminars this year — all during the same weekend.
One is at the Delta Hotels Chicago Willowbrook. (You can check out the updated FlyerTalk page here. And this is the event’s Facebook page.)
A second takes place at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village. (Their Facebook page seems to be the best place for updates.)
The respective events both claim they’re the original Chicago Seminars — and the other is a separate, offshoot event. Both Chicago Seminars are non-profit events. Net proceeds are donated to charities.
Both events run Friday, October 13, through Sunday, October 15.
The Delta Hotels event features a “Variety Show” starting Friday morning. That portion of the day is available both in-person and online. I believe the Holiday Inn event starts late Friday afternoon or early Friday evening.
Then there’s a different event taking place at the Hyatt Rosemont. The Saturday afternoon “Chicago Seminar” is centered mainly around casino loyalty programs. That apparently does not have a charitable component to it.

Can You Attend Multiple Events?
As far as I know, you can!
Some of my friends have tickets to the Delta Marriott and Holiday Inn events.
Are Hotel Rooms Still Available?
I believe the room block is closed for the Delta Marriott Chicago Seminars — but it appears there are rooms still available for both award and retail bookings. (If you’re paying retail, make sure to start your booking process through a cash back portal such as Rakuten or TopCashback.)
I also noticed a Marriott Bonvoy Amex Offer available, too. Keep that in mind.
The Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village didn’t come up as available when I searched the IHG website. But you might have different results. Or get in touch with the organizers; they surely have better information than I do.
Am I Speaking?
Yup. Both René and I will speak at the Delta Marriott Chicago Seminars.
I’m also putting together a dog ’n’ pony for the Variety Show.
I hope to visit Shelby Campbell’s (the restaurant and bar at the Holiday Inn) sometime Thursday or Friday. I know several of that event’s speakers and attendees — and would love to say hi! (And enjoy one of their decent Old Fashioneds, amazing cheeseburgers, and fantastic fries.)
Any Tips for Newbies?
Yep! I’ll do a post about that early-mid next week.
(And this damn well better be the only year of multiple Chicago Seminars.)
