We wrote last month about a limited-time promotion offering Delta SkyMiles members the opportunity to earn 1,000 bonus SkyMiles after making two purchases at Starbucks in one week.
The catch?
- Enrollment is required.
- The deadline to sign up is today, September 12.
You can enroll here. You’ll have a week to make two eligible purchases. (We’ll tackle that in a minute.)
What if you don’t plan to visit Starbucks more than once this next week?
Easy.
Place two separate orders. For example, my wife stopped at a Starbucks while running errands. She ordered one coffee and checked out. Then, she ordered a breakfast sandwich a minute later.
That triggered the deal.
And for you regular Starbucks customers, there’s a chance to earn more SkyMiles:
So, I’ll probably pick up coffee for my wife, mother-in-law, and me (as I usually do once or twice a week). Three separate orders and I’m 1,000 bonus SkyMiles richer. (Ooooh, aaaah.)
Here are the terms and conditions:
Here’s some fine print to keep in mind:
- “Qualifying Purchases” include food, beverage(s), and/or merchandise
- Qualifying Purchases must be at least $2.00 (excluding taxes and gratuities)
- alcoholic beverages, Starbucks Card eGifts and physical Starbucks gift cards are excluded.
- Qualifying Purchases must be made using a linked payment method or preloaded Starbucks Card registered to your Starbucks Rewards account, or by scanning your barcode located in the Starbucks mobile app prior to completing checkout.
- “Participating Starbucks Stores” are Starbucks locations where a Starbucks Rewards member can earn Stars (as defined in the Starbucks Rewards Terms of Use)

I registered and already got the 1k miles bonus a couple of weeks ago. Is it only a one-time deal or can I get another 1K miles bonus?
Heck, give it a shot and see what happens.
I just tried registering and got a weird “system error,” but then got an email stating I was registered. I was also informed that I was already registered when I tried to register again. It will be interesting to see if the points show up after two purchases.
I got the same “system error” when I signed up. I have made the 2 purchases necessary and used the Delta AMEX just to be sure I had a paper trail. I have not received the email to congratulate me that I just earned 1000 points though. I made a claim on Delta.com but no reply back yet (almost a week ago). My wife registered after me, made the two purchases, got the congratulatory email that she earned 1000 points and an additional offer for another 1000 points if she made 3 Starbucks purchases within a week. I’ve been ghosted I’m afraid!
