Due to the devastating and deadly wildfires raging on Maui, Delta Air Lines extended a travel waiver for its passengers traveling to, from, or through the island’s Kahului Airport (OGG).
Maui Wildfire Travel Waiver
The impacted travel dates are August 9-September 16. Tickets must be rebooked by September 19. Rebooked travel must commence no later than September 19, as well.
Here’s the waiver’s official page on Delta.com.
Applicable fare differences will be waived provided the passenger remains in the same cabin they originally purchased (i.e., Main Cabin).
Contact Delta Air Lines for Rebooking Help

Commenced no later than Aug 16? Jeez. That’s kind of rough. I would think it would be a while until tourism commences again.
I’ve seen waivers extended before — maybe that’ll happen here. Plus, Delta issues credit for non-refundable tickets. So, there’s always that route, too.
