The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Card (Special Referral Offer!)
The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card (a consumer/personal card) offers new cardholders three (3) Free Night Awards after spending $3,000 in eligible purchases within three (3) months of being approved for card membership. (It’s pretty easy to remember: spend 3k within 3 months, and earn 3 three nights!) You might be on the hook for resort (or destination or whatever) fees at some properties. (This is a special referral offer and not available through our credit card affiliate. All information about the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card was collected independently by Eye of the Flyer and was not reviewed by its issuing bank.)
The Free Nights are valued at up to 50,000 points each. So, really, you can try to max this out and get 150,000 points worth spread across three nights.
The card has a $95 annual fee. I hold it primarily because it comes with a Free Night Award each year (starting year two), valid for a one-night hotel stay at properties with redemption levels up to 35,000 points.
Exceptions
The Marriott cards are very picky when it comes to eligibility:
The new cardmember bonus is not available to you if (1) you currently have or had any of the following cards within the last 30 days: Marriott Bonvoy® American Express® Card, The Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express; or if (2) you applied and were approved for any of the following cards within the last 90 days or (3) received a new cardmember bonus or upgrade bonus for any of the following cards within the last 24 months: Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card, Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express®Card, Starwood Preferred Guest® American Express Luxury Card, Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card.
Make sure to check the fine print before you apply.
Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card
The Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card features something similar — except the minimum spending requirement is higher: 3 Free Night Awards, valued at a total of up to 150,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points after you spend $6,000 on eligible purchases within six (6) months of being approved for card membership. Each award can be redeemed for one night at or under 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy®. (Certain hotels have resort fees. Terms apply.). Card members receive complimentary Bonvoy Gold elite status. That’s nothing amazing, but occasionally comes in helpful for extended checkouts and other perks.
Like the Boundless card, this card offers a Free Night Award each year (starting year two) valid for a one-night hotel stay at properties with redemption levels up to 35,000 points. This can be valuable for sole proprietors or other small businesses.
The card’s annual fee is $125 (See Rates and Fees.)
Exceptions
Here are this card’s welcome offer exceptions:
Welcome offer not available to applicants who (i) have or have had the Marriott Bonvoy® Premier Plus Business Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Rewards® Premier Plus Business Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Bonvoy Business® Credit Card from Chase, or the Marriott Rewards® Business Credit Card from Chase in the last 30 days, (ii) have acquired the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card from Chase, the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card from Chase, in the last 90 days, or (iii) received a new Card Member bonus offer in the last 24 months on the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card from Chase, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card from Chase, or the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card from Chase.
Final Approach
Two Marriott credit cards offer three Free Night Awards as their welcome offers. You can generally find good Marriott properties for 50,000 points or under. I hold the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card and took advantage of the same offer. I also love the annual Free Night Award. If I weren’t maxed out on Amex cards, I’d be all over the Bonvoy Business Card, too.
