As many people know, Delta Air Lines flight 1092 from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) was involved in an incident Wednesday morning.
The flight was operated on a Boeing 717 (similar to the one in our above featured image).

As it approached CLT, pilots received a “nose gear unsafe” indication. The crew initiated a missed approach procedure to further investigate the indication.
Initial reports indicate that the flight crew flew by the CLT air traffic control tower to allow air traffic controllers an opportunity to visually inspect the plane. That observation indicated that the nose landing gear doors were open, but the nose gear itself remained in the up position.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
At least some of that is probably attributable to what appears was a fantastic landing. While many passengers were bracing for an emergency landing, someone took out their phone and recorded the moment.

I mean, c’mon! Granted, I wasn’t on the flight, nor am I a pilot. But that looked pretty darn amazing.
And now time for the cliche: I think I’ve experienced bumpier landings with all the landing gear deployed.
It’s fantastic no one was injured. Excellent job by that Delta crew this morning!

Better than what some people are rotting for… a pilot-less future. 2 humans on the flight deck… now and forever. Cars and planes do not belong without humans.
