If you (or your kids?) are heading to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (known colloquially as just “Coachella”), your American Express card could come in quite handy.
Coachella Amex Offer
The first thing to catch my eye is a Coachella Amex Offer. Members can earn a one-time $10 statement credit when using their card to spend at least $50 in one or more eligible purchases at participating on-site vendors during either festival weekend (April 14-16, 2023 and April 21-23, 2023). Manual enrollment is required and terms apply.
You’ll also earn any applicable points, miles, or cashback (whatever your card features).
So, this may help people save some money on food and outlandishly priced merchandise 🙂 .
All of my Amex products — including the American Express® Membership Rewards® and co-branded cards (i.e., card_name) received the offer.
As with most Amex Offers, there are some exclusions. The following purchases do not qualify for the offer:
- any retail kiosk offering merchandise that can be shipped home
- merchants located within the following on-site brand activation areas: Bad Bunny/Adidas, Casetify, and Carrera.
Coachella Benefits for Amex Cardholders
American Express members also can access several benefits and perks during Coachella. Worth noting: enrollment is required. You can do that through the American Express Coachella page (americanexpress.com/us/campaigns/festivals/coachella).
Amex Lounge Access
Amex cardmembers and up to three guests(!) may visit the Amex Coachella lounge.
I don’t know the lounge’s features. Is it inside or outside? No idea. Free drinks and food? Beats me. Maybe someone can visit and report back.
Fast Lanes for Merch!
Each day from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, cardholders may present their Amex card and use special “fast lanes” at the “main merch tent.” (Amex says these are “the lanes farthest to the right.”) Purchases must be paid with an Amex card. Guests are apparently not permitted in the line. (In other words, get ready to take orders from your friends and have them Venmo you!)
BLACKPINK also features a dedicated merch fast lane for Amex cardholders. (BLACKPINK is a K-pop group.) Plus, you can receive a limited-edition patch (ooh, ahhh!) when making a purchase at the BLANKPINK tent. You’ll need to make said purchase with your Amex card.
Free Ferris Wheel Ride
Cardholders may take one free ride on the iconic Coachella Ferris wheel each festival weekend. (Fun fact: it’s the world’s largest transportable Ferris wheel.) Just tap an Amex card and you’re on.
Exclusive Merchandise
The Kimpton Hotel in downtown Palm Springs will host a pop-up merchandise store selling three Coachella items available only to Amex cardholders. The store is open Thursday, April 13, and Thursday, April 20, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. If you’re arriving later in the weekends, don’t worry. It’s also open Monday, April 17, and Monday, April 24, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
I’ve never been to Coachella but know people who love it. If you’re one of them, have a great time!

Ooh. This is great info. My daughter attends this every year and was excited to hear about these benefits. She has an Amex card, but hasn’t seen info on this Amex page so thanks for the tips!
Great! If you and she have time, would you please let us know well the benefits worked? I hope she has a great time. If she goes this weekend, it looks like the weather won’t be too hot. (It’s California Cold here in the San Fernando Valley 😉 ).
Sure
Thanks!
My daughter didn’t go on the Ferris wheel or the Amex lounge due to long lines. She said the lines for the lounge aren’t bad in the morning, but get longer throughout the day. She visited the Amex lounge last year and said that it has nice areas to relax in, you can charge your phone, there’s usually exclusive merch in there and some kind of free snacks and drinks.
Thanks for the report, Michelle!
