Chase and DoorDash offer discounts and benefits for DashPass — the food delivery service’s subscription program. Many — but not all — of the Chase cards are eligible.

The offerings have changed a little bit since the two companies partnered up, so we wanted to get you caught up to speed.

Which Chase Cards Have DoorDash DashPass Benefits?

Most of the cobranded cards (e.g., World of Hyatt, Marriott, United, IHG, etc.) and personal/consumer cards Chase Ultimate Rewards® come with some sort of DoorDash benefit.

When Chase and DoorDash originally teamed up a few years ago, only the personal Chase Ultimate Rewards® cards received DoorDash benefits. But now the personal and business cobranded cards (e.g., World of Hyatt, Marriott, United, IHG, etc.) are in on the action.

So, we’ll break down the benefits by card type.

Complimentary DashPass Subscriptions

Before we jump in too deep, let’s talk about DashPass.

DashPass is DoorDash’s subscription service that gives members $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders of $12 on DoorDash and Caviar orders. It costs $9.99 a month.

But if you hold at least one eligible Chase card, you can enjoy the service free for a certain time. (We’ll discuss the “certain time” aspect in a minute.)

Chase Ultimate Rewards® Cards

Seven personal/consumer Chase Ultimate Rewards® cards feature DoorDash benefits:

  • J.P. Morgan Reserve Card (card membership by invitation only, not available through Eye of the Flyer or our affiliates)
  • Chase Sapphire (legacy card no longer available for new applications)
  • Chase Freedom (legacy card no longer available for new applications)

Two other Chase-branded cards — Chase Slate and — also are eligible.

and J.P. Morgan Reserve Card

and J.P. Morgan Reserve Card members may receive free DashPass subscriptions through December 31, 2024 — or a minimum of one year. For example, if you activate the subscription now, you should be good through the end of 2024. But if you wait until next year, you’ll only receive a year of DashPass. So, if you activate the subscription on July 4, 2024, it’ll be vaid through July 3, 2025. (By the way, don’t forget DashPass will renew at the prevailing price when your complimentary membership expires — until you cancel before then.)

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® Visa Infinite Credit Card

Plus, and J.P. Morgan Reserve Card members enrolled in DashPass receive monthly $5 DoorDash credits. Here’s something very much worth nothing: the statement credits roll over for a maxium of two months. So, you can have a total of $15 in available DoorDash credits before a $5 credit expires. That’s worth up to $60 a year!

Finally, up to seven (7) authorized users also are eligible for the DashPass benefits — including the $5 monthly credit. That almost covers the $75 annual fee per additional card user.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire

Like the and J.P. Morgan Reserve Card members, and Chase Sapphire holders are eligible for free DashPass subscriptions through December 31, 2024 — or a minimum of one year. Moral of the story: activate the benefit this year and you’re set through 2024. Wait until next year and you may only get 12 months worth of DashPass — unless Chase extends the benefit.

No monthly credits here, sorry!

Chase Freedom Flex℠, Chase Freedom Unlimited®, Chase Freedom, Chase Slate, and Chase Slate Edge℠

, , Chase Freedom, Chase Slate, and are eligible for a free three-month DashPass subscription. After those three months, the cardholder is automatically enrolled for nine (9) months — but at a 50% discoount of the prevailing membership rate. After that, the membership stays active the prevailing rate.

Unless, of course, you cancel your membership before then.

Co-Branded Cards

Members of the below credit cards are eligible for a complimentary 12-month DashPass subscription. This seems to be a hard 12 months — nothing like the “at least” that Chase Sapphire Reserve® and J.P. Morgan Reserve Card members enjoy.

  • Disney® Visa Cards
  • The Ritz Carlton™ Credit Card
  • Starbucks® Rewards Visa® Card

Activate the benefit before Deember 31, 2024. Also, there are no monthly $5 statement credit perks available with this 12-month DashPass subscription.

Activating the Chase DoorDash Benefits

It’s very easy to start taking advantage of your Chase DoorDash perks. We created this little guide to help you out. The Chase Sapphire Reserve® was our sample credit card in the real-life example.

Why Doesn’t Chase Offer DoorDash Benefits on Its Ultimate Rewards Business Cards?

That’s an excellent question — especially given the exploding gig economy and people beginning entrepreneurial endeavors.

The , , and are great credit cards for small business owners. (In particular, I really like the beacuse of its points earning structures.)

I do a lot of photo editing on major live events — and am working remotely more than ever. I can’t tell you how many times I’ll be on a Zoom with 30 people and someone says, “Be right back — going to get my Uber Eats order!” Targeting these small business owners with no-annual-fee business cards (such as the  and  and offering them the DoorDash benefits seems like a missed opportunity.

On top of that, I know some small business owners whose employees go to an actual building and work in offices (can you believe it?!). Some of them regularly order in lunch for their staffs. Once again: these companies would love a business card with some food delivery perks.

Final Approach

I love using credit cards’ food delivery perks — and the Chase-DoorDash partnership is really one of my favorites. DoorDash has a pretty great selection of restaurants and stores and I’ve immensely enjoyed my DashPass subscription.

How do I utilize 2 Chase Sapphire Reserve® cards with one DoorDash account? P1 and P2 both have the Sapphire Reserve card connected to one DoorDash account and we only receive $5 per month in credit. I was expecting $10 per month… sort of like how my Uber / Amex accounts work.

I’d just get P2 their own DoorDash account and have them put their CSR as payment.
