Lyft and Delta Air Lines teamed up for a promotion offering a free Lyft gift code for certain Delta Air Lines gift card purchases.
Free $25 Lyft Gift Code When Spending at Least $250 on Delta Gift Card Purchases!
You can receive a free $25 Lyft gift code when you buy at least $250 in Delta gift cards through this promotion.
The Delta gift cards do not expire. They’re valid toward purchases of Delta-marketed and -operated flights. So, if you see a codeshare option available through Delta (i.e., Air France, KLM, etc.) the gift cards should work. Airfare purchases made with Delta earn MQD, MQM, MQS, and redeemable SkyMiles.
The Lyft gift codes do expire on May 31, 2023, at 11:59 PM EST. But you have plenty of time to use them.
The offer is limited to the first 2,000 purchasers during the qualifying period, which expires at 11:59 PM EST on November 16.
Both gift cards will take a while to activate. Expect between 24-72 hours.
No Published Limit on Purchases
There are no stated limits (at least, from what we can tell) as to how many times you can take advantage of the promotion. One of my friends made multiple $250 Delta gift card purchases. He is swimming in both Delta and Lyft credit.
But keep in mind the promotion is limited to 2,000 purchases.
Purchases Won’t Code as Travel or Delta
CashStar (a retail gift card merchant division of Blackhawk Network) processes the Delta gift card purchases. The vendor of record is “DELTA CSTAR GFTCD.” So, the Delta gift card purchase will code as something like “Shopping” and earn. It will not code as “Travel” or a Delta purchase.
The Blue Cash Everyday Card® from American Express is a decent option. Why? It earns 3% cash back on U.S. online retail purchases, of up to $6,000 per calendar year (then 1%). Plus, there’s no annual fee. (Rates and Fees. Terms apply. Cash back is awarded as Reward Dollars, which may be applied as statement credit.)

The fine print mentions “while supplies last”. I take that to mean a limit may be enforced. I opted for just one Lyft bonus.
