A Southwest Airlines pilot reportedly received some surprises on Tuesday: pictures of naked people appearing on his iPhone.
AirDrop is an Apple function that allows people to send files to other Apple devices wirelessly. For example, if René ever joins the dark side and finally gets an iPhone, I can AirDrop him a PDF if he’s within 30 feet of me. My AirDrop setting currently allows only people listed in my contacts to AirDrop files to me.
But the pilot in question seems to have left his phone’s “AirDrop” function set to “Everyone.” (Bad idea.)
Ladies PLEASE stop sending this pilot nudes on your way to Cabo. pic.twitter.com/RY2xSq9IAX

The flight was bound for Cabo San Lucas. But I guess it was still taxiing to the departure runway.
“So here’s the deal,” he told the passengers during a PA announcement, “if this continues while we’re on the ground, I’m going to have to pull back to the gate, everybody’s going to have to get off, we’re going to have to get security involved and [your] vacation is going to be ruined.”
According to the New York Post, Southwest told the rag, “The safety, security and wellbeing of Customers and Employees is the Southwest Team’s highest priority at all times. When made aware of a potential problem, our employees address issues to support the comfort of those traveling with us.”
So, that’s the skinny.

Good for him making a stand and good for @Rene being, I assume, an Android user like me!
Yes, René is an Android guy. My wife is finally breaking and leaning toward getting an iPhone!
Chris, I was an Apple loyalist for decades. Started with the Lisa (the Mac’s predecessor). I converted my entire company over to Macs and iPhones. (Years ago, I was neighbors with a now-former CEO of Apple.) But, it ain’t Steve’s company anymore. All of the key thinkers from Steve’s era are gone. It’s Tim’s company. And, Tim is a bean-counter. All of the key thinkers are Tim’s people. In 2016, a tech person inside Apple related to me a number of “technical things” going on with Apple products. I was incredibly disappointed. I moved my company to Chromebooks and Android. For whatever free advice is worth.
