Time is running out for some American Express cardholders to save a hundred bucks purchasing certain Delta flights!
Delta Amex Offer for Flights Purchased at AmexTravel.com
An Amex Offer issued in February gives targeted cardholders a one-time $100 statement credit when using their eligible card to spend at least $400 in one or more purchases for Delta-operated flights booked online at AmexTravel.com. Manual activation/enrollment is required if you wish to take advantage of the promotion.
The offer is valid through March 31, 2022. So, think about some Delta trips you might want to take — and book them soon.
The Platinum Card® from American Express was my only Amex that received the offer. Plus, I’ll earn 5X American Express® Membership Rewards® points for the purchase. (The Platinum Card® from American Express awards 5X points for airfare purchases made through AmexTravel.com or directly through airlines. That benefit is capped at $500,000 in such purchases each calendar year.)
Some of the small print to keep in mind:
- This offer is good only for Delta-operated flights booked through AmexTravel.com. You won’t receive the statement credit for Delta flight purchases made through Delta.com, the Fly Delta app, Delta phone reps, other travel agencies, or even American Express Travel via the Amex App or by phone. Use AmexTravel.com only, folks.
- I don’t know that Delta Connection flights are included in the offer. The wording explicitly says “Delta operated flights.” Perhaps that includes Delta Connection in this instance — and Amex intentionally stayed away from saying “Delta-marketed,” so as not to confused anyone? If you use the offer for a trip that includes a Delta Connection flight, would you please let us know what happens?
- The offer includes Delta-operated flights purchased as part of the International Airline Program or a flight + hotel package at AmexTravel.com.
- Flights must be purchased by March 31, 2022. Nothing in the terms says your trip must be flown by that date.
Final Approach
People who hold a targeted American Express card can enjoy a one-time $100 statement credit when using their enrolled Amex for Delta-operated flights purchased through AmexTravel.com. Be aware of the minimum purchase requirement ($400), that AmexTravel.com is the only eligible vendor, and purchases must be completed by March 31, 2022.
