The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is our go-to card for non-bonused spending. It earns (at least) 2X Capital One Miles (points) on each eligible purchase!

What Kind of Points/Miles the Card Earns: Capital One Miles. They can be redeemed toward travel purchases made through Capital One’s Travel service or transferred to one of Capital One’s partners. Cashback is an option but the redemption rates are less than 1:1.
Annual Fee: $395. (Yes, it comes with airport lounge access!) And it’s actually very easy to earn all that back and come out ahead without jumping through hoops or using all sorts of statement credits.
Additional Cardholders: Up to four additional cardholders for $0 each! They, too, enjoy benefits and perks such as airport lounge access.

Receive 10,000 bonus miles (worth $100) on your card membership anniversary, starting your second year. That $100 plus your $300 in statement credit are worth $400 — which is $5 ahead of your $395 annual fee. Make sure to use them!
Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®
Like many travel credit cards, Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card members can receive up to $100 in statement credit every four (4) years when using the card to pay for one (1) Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® application fee. Remember that you can “gift” your Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credits to other people.

Enjoy a $100 experience credit, daily breakfast for two (2), and and complimentary WiFi on every booking, plus other premium benefits like room upgrades, early check-in and late checkout when available, at eligible properties.
