This story is packed with all kinds of shocking information.
First, a one-year-old baby was allegedly kicked in the head during a flight earlier this month.
Yes. On purpose.
Why? Duh! The kid was crying!
And you know what else is surprising? This incident didn’t occur on Spirit Airlines. Nor did it happen in Florida. It also didn’t take place on a flight departing from or bound for Los Angeles.
Craziness.
Who Kicks a Baby?!
Simple Flying’s Daniel Martinez Garbuno relays (via Semana) that the little tyke was crying during an Avianca flight between Bogota and Barcelona. The kid’s mom was apparently flustered. Another passenger suggested that Mom let her kid crawl the aisle.

Call me a neurotic, overly cautious parent — but I don’t ever recall my wife or me allowing our daughter to crawl up and down a plane’s aisle. There’s just too much that can go wrong: someone can accidentally step on a child. Something may get dropped or spilled on a crawling baby.
Or a cranky passenger might flip out and, you know, kick the little one square in the face. Just like what reportedly happened on AV18.
What was the woman’s excuse?
Mr. Martinez Garbuno writes, “The woman argued she felt desperate because of the child’s crying, and she was unable to handle the situation anymore.”

So, justice is going to prevail, right?
According to the article:
Once the aircraft landed in Barcelona, the Spanish civil guard got involved and urged the mother to file a lawsuit. Nonetheless, among the confusion, the mother forgot to ask the police to provide her with official photos of the incident.
A few days later, the Spanish authorities summoned the mother and the attacker; the mother came alone, without an attorney (as she couldn’t pay for one), and the attacker arrived with a lawyer, denying any attack. Moreover, the primary witness to the incident, an Avianca crew member, was a no-show. At the moment, there is no further information regarding the legal status of the attacker.
Lovely.
No word on the child’s condition.
Mr. Martinez Garbuno notes that Avianca is calling on Columbia’s civil aviation authority to implement a no-fly list for unruly passengers. This is similar to what Delta’s Ed Bastian wants, too.
Final Approach
A woman allegedly kicked a one-year-old baby in the head during a flight a couple of weeks ago. She apparently lost her cool because the child was crawling in the aisle and crying.
Here’s hoping the child is OK — and the alleged attacker gets punished. And never flies again or is allowed near children.

We’ve forced kids to wear masks for 2 years for no reason.
Anyone who supports that is doing a lot more harm to kids than random violence one time to one.

I’m guessing you don’t get many babysitting gigs?
Did you really just say this out loud??? Yikes!
