We received some requests for Delta partner MQD runs. Truth be told, we haven’t seen anything too exciting recently. But we spotted this interesting Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) to Amsterdam (AMS) mileage run in AeroMexico business class.
It should earn $5324 MQD and 20,220 MQM (and 26,960 SkyMiles before any Medallion bonuses) when you credit the trip to your Delta SkyMiles number.
The trip currently prices out to $1811.95. The projected MQD earning ($5324) is about 2.94X your investment. That’s just under the 3X threshold for which we generally aim. If you can live with that, you’re fine. (We’re basing our numbers on 13,312 miles flown — as estimated by ITA Matrix).
Like most AeroMexico mileage runs, this connects in Mexico City. Your itinerary is DFW-MEX-AMS-MEX-DFW.
I searched for trip durations of 0-1 night stays. And there are several weekends (or weekend-adjacent 🙂 available during November and December. If your time is limited, then look for a “0” night stay. These are turns and don’t require you to spend a night in Amsterdam. You can knock out the run in less than 48 hours.
- 11/11: 1 night stay required
- 11/19: 1 night or turn/no overnight requirement
- 11/25: 1 night
- 11/26: Turn/no overnight stay
- 12/2: 1 night
- 12/3: 1 night or turn/no overnight requirement
Your business class ticket should get you into one of the KLM Crown lounges. Similarly, you can visit the meh Delta Sky Club at DFW.
I really like this sample itinerary.
Possibilities for Some Delta Hub-Captives?
You probably board around 12:30 on Friday afternoon. That’s enough time to catch an early flight to DFW if you live somewhere such as Atlanta, Detroit, or Minneapolis. Plus, you return to Dallas at noon on Sunday. You have all afternoon to position back to your home city. (Or head to AT&T Stadium and watch the Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs game at 3:25 PM. 🙂 )
I believe AeroMexico flights depart from DFW’s “D” Terminal. That’s home to the American Express Centurion Lounge DFW. Plus, there’s a Centurion Lounge in Mexico City. So those holding The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express.

Can we stop doing Aeromexico runs? I know it’s a good deal but the product is just so. bad.
They’re popular with many readers.
@Chris – …and writers as well! 😉
How do you get 5,324 MQD’s for $1,812.
@Ray – Partner earnings chart. See this post and this one to learn how it works!
I found an excellent run that I am doing in November. 11/12. LAX-AMS-JNB. arrive night of 11/13. Going on game drive on 11/14.
11/15 JNB-CDG-AMS-LAX.
KLM/ AIR FRANCE. Business class all the way. $2800. Should net about 22000+ miles plus $8800 MQD (40% because business class).
Of course I have to tie in the DTW-LAX flights to make that work, but that is trivial.
Sounds great! Excellent find!
What about testing for covid requirements going thru AMS??
This site can help with that information.
