Are you stockpiling Delta MQM to roll over into 2022? Then you might want to check out this mileage run from Los Angeles (LAX) to Berlin (BER).
It earns 30,046 MQM and $1,839 MQD. The trip currently prices out to $1,281.15 (4.3 CPM). It travels LAX-SEA-AMS-BER-AMS-SEA-LAX. (I did not see it available on any Delta partner sites, sorry. Juicy Miles probably has some tricks up their sleeves and can make that happen.)
It’s a weekend jaunt that starts Friday morning and gets you back to LAX on Sunday afternoon. You have Saturday afternoon and evening to enjoy Berlin. (We found this trip for December 3-5 — so you should be able to enjoy a Christmas market at some point.) The 6:00 AM departure on Sunday morning is a little brutal for me. But maybe you’ll be OK. 🙂
This is a Premium Select booking — so you’ll be fairly comfortable on the long hauls between Seattle and Amsterdam. Those seats are pretty much like US domestic first class. Keep in mind you’re in Comfort+ between LAX and SEA — though Medallions are, of course, eligible for first class upgrades. Between AMS and BER, you’ll sit in KLM coach on a 737-800.
Germany is currently open to vaccinated passengers from the United States. Remember that you’ll need a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your flight back to the States. You can probably get that done in Los Angeles on late Thursday or early Friday.
Delta Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Medallion members: because this is an international trip, you and a guest may enjoy complimentary admission to these airport lounges.
