Delta Air Lines announced today that it’s “proactively canceled” about 75 flights at four Louisiana destinations.
The affected flights include both mainline and Delta Connection hops. The airports in question are:
- Baton Rouge (BTR)
- Gulfport (GPT)
- Lafayette (LFT)
- New Orleans (MSY)
Delta said the cancelations are effective from this evening until morning.
This coincides with a travel waiver Delta issued on Friday for these destinations:
- Baton Rouge, LA (BTR)
- Columbus, MS (GTR)
- Gulfport/Biloxi, MS (GPT)
- Jackson, MS (JAN)
- Lafayette, LA (LFT)
- Mobile, AL (MOB)
- Monroe, LA (MLU)
- New Orleans, LA (MSY)
The impacted travel dates are August 29 through August 31. (Though not today, which I find interesting.) Travel must be rebooked and commence no later than September 4. Delta permanently waived change fees a while ago. So travel weather waivers basically mean you can rebook a flight and not pay a fare difference — provided you remain in the same booking class.
