As you can see from the above shot, I have a bunch of fun Delta (or Delta-related) travel pins. I rotate which ones I wear on my shirt collar when I fly.
The Delta “wings” get interesting looks as normally only Delta people get these for years of service to the company (side note: maybe I should do a post about what they all stand for).
I also love the A350 1st flight pin that I got on the inaugural flight to Japan but I save that one for A350 flights and enjoy showing it off to Delta folks and the memories of that special first flight.
I have also ordered a box of 50 disposable, individually wrapped, 3M N95 masks (they may be out of stock — but this is another 3M N95 box option if you are like me and stocking up). For the foreseeable future, I want to always have some extra high-quality disposable masks (just in case) in my travel bag.
But I want one more bit of travel “bling” to show off and it is…
I want to show off that the only reason I am traveling at all is that I am fully vaccinated and to maybe shame a few anti-vaxxers along the way to get a shot to make us all that much safer! I got a 20 pack of the pins so I could share the extras with some friends whom I plan to see over the summer (they, too, also are fully vaccinated).
Clearly, anyone could buy these pins even if they are not vaccinated. But for me, I hope those who see me wearing mine will either:
- feel more at ease that I am unlikely to get them sick or
- spur some kind of conversation over getting the shot!
What do you think? Would you wear one of these pins? Would you be more at ease if you knew whoever you were next to was fully vaccinated during your travels? Let me know! – René

Once I’m vaccinated it doesn’t really matter whether the person next to me is. For people in general to believe otherwise is very harmful to society. But until then, yes I would feel more at ease, even though the risk of transmission on a plane was always very low and I didn’t catch it when I flew twice internationally. I would proudly wear a pin like this.
I have now had at least one vaccination shot. Since I’m on a clinical trial for Novavax, I don’t know whether my first two shots were real. I just had my first crossover shot and will have my second in less than three weeks. Although it’s not approved yet, the results so far have been at least as good as those of the emergency approved ones.
To clarify, it does matter to me whether people get vaccinated, as I feel they should, but not for my own safety if I’m already vaccinated.
I am buying some great idea
Giveaway time again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And a big thumbs up to Novavax- this is a real game changer most people do no understand.
@GetToThePoints – LOL maybe I will pop up a few for a SWAG Saturday giveaway yes.
Can you do it on a different day so that Sabbath observers can try to win? Thanks.
@Barry – You can comment on Swag Saturday giveaways on Saturday and Sunday (up to time of giveaway – normally around 5PM ET on Sundays).
Thanks @Rene. 5pm Sunday is fine. As you can probably tell, I would love to win one of these!
@Barry – Not giving them away yet (don’t even have mine yet). Chris really is the one to talk to about having a giveaway!
René!
Once again on the Delta scene. Then delta points ain’t worth [removed]
I’m not really sure how someone that lost a close loved one to COVID would react to this. Keep in mind that the vaccine did not arrive soon enough for many that died. No doubt that a person that lost a loved on to COVID would want everyone to get vaccinated, but for some people it might cross a line between advocacy and bragging. I’m just asking the question and not saying you shouldn’t wear it.
@Dave – I will be very very very unlikely to be the cause of another death (my wife and I have basically sheltered in place for 1.3 years now). Sadly some will refuse to take the vaccine and likely cause others death. I will PROUDLY wear my pin and ask everyone to do the right thing i.e. GET THE SHOT!!!
Thanks for the Heads Up on the Covid pin!! Can’t wait to hear about how you got the other Kool Plane pins!!!
The link to amazon for the pins is a dead link…
@Droopy – Fixed. Thanks!
