The Business Platinum Card® from American Express has a new, limited-time offer: 100,000 bonus Membership Rewards points after spending $15,000 on purchases within three months of being approved for the card. This is an increase from the 85,000-point bonus that was previously available. (And it seems the 110k referral offer is dead?) (See Rates and Fees)
The Benefits-Packed Business Platinum Card® from American Express
Air Travel Benefits
Rebate on Airfares Booked with Membership Rewards Points!
One of the benefits I love most is the 35% Membership Rewards rebate valid for certain airfares booked through AmexTravel.com. Each year, you select an airline (we’ll say Delta). And whenever you use Membership Rewards points to pay for some or all of a Delta flight purchased through Amex, you receive 35% of those points back. Plus, those tickets code as cash fares, entitling you to MQM, MQD, SkyMiles, and any applicable elite Medallion perks.
The 35% rebate is also available for any first class airline ticket booked through Amex Travel — regardless of airline.
Plus, you’ll earn 5X on airline and pre-paid hotel purchases through AmexTravel.com
Airport Club Lounge Access
Enjoy complimentary access to:
- Delta Sky Clubs when flying Delta Air Lines
- Centurion Lounge airport club access for you and up to two guests. However, the two-guest perk is being 86ed in February 2023.
- Priority Pass Select lounges for you and up to two guests (enrollment required)
- Escape Lounges for you and up to two guests
- Global Lounge Collection, the only credit card airport lounge access program that includes proprietary lounge locations around the world
Annual Airline Incidental Credit
Receive $200 in annual incidental credit for purchases such as onboard food and beverages, checked baggage, and other fees when you pay with your Business Platinum Card® from American Express. (Enrollment required.)
Global Entry or TSA Credit
$100 Global Entry credit every four years. Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck! Or you can opt to just get TSA PreCheck.
You’ll receive complimentary gold status with both Marriott and Hilton just for being an American Express Business Platinum card member! (Enrollment required.)
Fine Hotels & Resorts
Receive complimentary benefits such as:
- Daily breakfast for two
- Resort or spa credit
- Guaranteed late checkout
- Upgrades when available
Other Perks and Credits
Earn 1.5 points per dollar on each eligible purchase of $5,000 or more. You can get up to 1 million additional points per year.
Enroll to get up to $200 in statement credits annually ($100 semi-annually) for U.S. purchases with Dell. Remember, Dell sells more than computers!
The card carries a $595 annual fee. (See Rates and Fees)
First things first: $15,000 in minimum spend to reach a welcome bonus is a lot of money. But Amex Business Platinum card welcome bonuses generally require a hefty amount of spend for their welcome bonuses. If you have quarterly taxes to pay (’tis the season…), that could be a quick way to knock out a bunch of spending.
The daily bonus point earnings on this card are nothing exceptional. I have and love this card — pretty much for the benefits only. But I still find it worth the nearly $600 annual fee.
