MGM Resorts International has apparently been sued over its practice involving resort and hotel fees.
The complaint was filed by Traveler’s United — “the only 501C3, non-profit, membership organization that represents all travelers” and “discusses consumer issues with travel associations that represent all modes of travel.”

In a tweet posted Wednesday evening, @TravelersUnited announced it sued MGM Resorts International for “charging deceptive and misleading hotel resort fees.” The lawsuit says Leo the Lion’s bosses violated the Consumer Protection Procedures Act.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal‘s Bailey Schulz writes:
“Many MGM properties claim the resort fee pays for a variety of amenities but during the Covid19 pandemic many of those amenities were reduced or eliminated,” a Wednesday press release from Travelers United said. “Despite this, MGM never lowered the price of their resort fees. This shows that clearly there is no correlation between amenities and resort fees. Resort fees enable the hotel to lie about the price of the advertised room.”
This should be interesting…
