Points Earnings (terms apply to each):

  • 4X Membership Rewards points on the two (2) categories on which your business spends the most each billing cycle, on up to $150,000 in combined purchases from these categories each calendar year (then 1X thereafter). Only the top 2 categories each billing cycle will count towards the $150,000 cap. These are the current eligible categories:
    • U.S. restaurants, including takeout and delivery
    • Online, television, and radio advertising made from U.S. media providers
    • Purchases directly from U.S. electronic goods retailers or software and cloud system providers
    • U.S. gas stations
      • superstores, supermarkets, and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not considered gas stations
    • Transit purchases
      • includes trains, taxi cabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways
    • U.S. wireless telephone services charges
  • 1X on all other eligible purchases

Statement Credit and Other Card Features

$240 Annual Flexible Business Credits

Cardholders may earn up to $20 in statement credits each month when using the American Express® Business Gold Card for eligible U.S. purchases at FedEx, Grubhub, and office supply stores. This can end up saving members up to $240 each year. Enrollment required.

Cardholders may earn $12.95 (plus applicable taxes) each month when using the American Express® Business Gold Card to pay for a monthly Walmart+ subscription. (Subject to auto-renewal and enrollment is required.)

One of our favorite features of The Business Platinum Card® From American Express is its 35% Pay With Points rebate.

The American Express® Business Gold Card features something similar. At least, through January 31, 2024. The card will no longer offer this feature as of February 1, 2024.

Until then, cardmembers can earn back 2.5 Membership Rewards points for every 10 points they redeem through Amex Travel for either a First or Business class flight on any airline — or for flights with their selected qualifying airline (enrollment required) using Membership Rewards Pay with Points. This feature is valid for up to 250,000 bonus points back per calendar year.
