Here’s something fun for concert lovers and #AvGeeks!
I stumbled across these clips the other night while surfing YouTube videos and thought you, too (bad-dum-bum) may enjoy them. Legendary rock band U2’s The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 made a stop at Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky on June 16, 2017.
About a minute and a half into the epic U2 hit “Where the Streets Have No Name,” a UPS 747 made a cameo appearance. I presume the Queen was on approach to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) — UPS’ primary hub.
The clip below is a little more dramatic, I think. It shows the jumbo’s lights slowly approaching just as the song builds to a crescendo. (And as anyone who’s ever been to a U2 show knows, that point in “Where the Streets Have No Name” is one of the louder, more visceral moments of the gig.)
U2 may or may not have adapted their band name from the Lockheed U-2 spy plane.
If that is the case, it’s kind of cool to see a U2 and 747 in the same shot — at least, in some form. 🙂
