An American Airlines flight (apparently operated by Envoy Air) turned around Saturday when its windshield was seriously damaged after striking something mid-flight.
TMZ broke the news a few minutes ago.

The original post doesn’t mention a flight number. The only information given in that regard is that the flight departed Chicago O’Hare and was en route to Cleveland when the incident took place.
Based on that, it appears the flight was Envoy Air 3408.
Whatever happened, it looks like it occurred over Lake Michigan.
According to TMZ:
The passengers didn’t know anything was amiss, until the captain got on the intercom and said it looks like they hit something and the window was cracked. The pilot reassured passengers the plane was still fully operational … nonetheless, it was really scary.
The jet was greeted by fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. It taxied to the gate and the relieved passengers disembarked.
The passengers apparently were boarded on to another aircraft (maybe this one?) and en route to CLE.
I’m curious what kind of object the plane struck. (If it were over Los Angeles, it would’ve been a drone or a jet pack 😉 ) The incident appears to have taken place just over 16,000 feet in altitude.
Thank goodness everyone was OK. The way 2020 is going…

this is “Breaking” in all caps?
And if the issue were with the spoilers or reverse thrusters, I could’ve said “BRAKING.”
