Nine years ago today, this post launched what is now known as Rene’s Points for Better Travel.
Since then, a lot has changed. The blog underwent a change of name — and, later, a change of owner.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected what we write. (As I’m sure you’ve noticed!) So that’s why you’re seeing more focus on money-making offers and promotions that are easy for our readers to capitalize on, credit card comparisons to help you save money on everyday expenses, and stuff like that. (I dearly miss writing about mileage runs and can’t wait to get back to that!)
René is still involved in the blog — and is a fantastic mentor and friend. For that, I’m grateful.
Most importantly: this blog would not exist if it weren’t for you. Some people read us every day. Others stop by occasionally. No matter where you fit in that range, we appreciate you taking the time to visit our blog. There are a lot of travel and points blogs out there. (Trust us, we know.) But your spending a few minutes on ours genuinely means a lot.
