Delta Air Lines announced this afternoon it’s waiving change fees for tickets purchased today (March 9) or prior to today. Per Delta:
-
Affected Customers: All Tickets Issued on or before March 9, 2020
Impacted Travel Date(s): March 1, 2020 – April 30, 2020
New Ticket Must Be Re-issued On/Before: Dec 31, 2020
Rebooked Travel Must Begin No Later Than: Dec 31, 2020
Here’s what I find interesting: the waiver is valid for “All Tickets Issued on or before March 9, 2020.” But keep in mind the impacted travel dates are “March 1, 2020 – April 30, 2020.” So it’s kind of all tickets — but not.
Still effective is this change waiver:
-
Affected Customers: All Tickets issued between March 1, 2020 – March 31, 2020
Impacted Travel Date(s): March 1, 2020 – February 25, 2021
Ticket Can Be Changed One-Time To An Alternate Itinerary. Must Be Re-issued On/Before: February 28, 2021
Rebooked Travel Must Begin No Later Than: February 28, 2021

What if my flight departs within the impacted travel dates but the return flight falls does not (e.g. Apr 24 to May 1)? Does the itinerary still qualify?
I believe the itinerary would still qualify. When in doubt, contact Delta.
How about award tickets? Is Delta waiving the $150 fee to redeposit the miles for canceled award tickets up through April 30th?
