Could it really be possible to retire to a cruise ship? And Los Angeles wants to reward people who take public transportation to LAX — by giving them their own priority security line.

We’ll dip into those headlines and more in a few minutes. First, here’s a quick recap of this week at Rene’s Points!

Happy Leap Day! I’m in London — on a mileage run/mini-vacation with my best friend. We’re meeting up with one of my college roommates, who lives in England. It’s the first time we’ve all hung out together in about 20 years.

How are you spending yours?

Remember, today’s the last chance to elevate your status for insane prices.

Coronavirus COVID-19 caused quite a bit of stir this week. A Korean Air flight attendant tested positive for the virus. And her whereabouts during a Los Angeles layover is a strange mystery. Or is it?

Delta issued travel waivers for all its flights to Italy. It did likewise for travel to/from Seoul Incheon — and even suspended the MSP to ICN route. The airline ended up shifting several of its wide-body planes to domestic routes.

If you’re worried about traveling while ill, here are a few tips to consider.

Did some of your Amex airline incidental credits from last year get charged back to you? The RATs are out in force.

In case you’re interested, this is a quick look at the new metal Delta Amex cards. Speaking of Amex cards, here’s what happened when I called to maybe cancel my Business Platinum card.

I’ve taken some heat for it but stand by my belief that the IHG Premier card is worth carrying — especially because it has a 140,000 welcome bonus offer right now.

A flight attendant was fired for committing the grievous offense of being one pound “overweight.”

We also asked readers if they’d buy a Delta flight if Lyft credit were included.
