Cincinnati area SkyMiles members needing a decent mileage run should check out this quick trip: CVG to Tokyo Haneda (HND) in Delta Premium Select!
It currently prices at $1414.65 — but yields 19,546 MQM. If you can’t take advantage of an MQD run, this is sort of your next best option.
The trip I found departs Wednesday, April 22 at 6:00 AM. There are two connections: first through Atlanta and then Seattle. (Heads-up: the Atlanta connection is only 35 minutes.) You arrive in Tokyo at 2:10 PM on Thursday.
Your flight from SEA to HND is on an A350-900’s Premium Select product!
You’ll stay overnight and have a chance to check out the sites. (You owe it to yourself to see the overpriced but insanely interesting Robot Restaurant dinner show.)
Your return leaves Friday, April 24 at 4:20 PM, arriving in Minneapolis at 1:26 PM the same day (again on the A350). The layover is seven (yes) hours. So consider hopping a train to the Mall of America. Or club hop:
- Delta Sky Club F/G
- Delta Sky Club C
- Escape Lounge (complimentary for Platinum Card® from American Express or Business Platinum Card® from American Express cardholders.)
SkyMiles Elite Plus members (Gold, Platinum, and Diamond) enjoy complimentary access to Delta Sky Clubs while traveling on international itineraries and may bring a guest.
The US domestic legs are in Comfort+. But the “premium” fare class will get you a boost on the upgrade list.
Here’s a Google Flights link to get you started.
- Cost: $1,414.65
- Dates: April 22-24.

- MQM: 19,456 MQM (7.2 CPM)
