As the year winds down, we’ll ramp up some of our to-do posts (choice benefits, credit card spend, etc).
But as far as this week goes, I apparently struck a nerve. Based on the comments this post received, it seems there are two kinds of people: those who love Airbnb and those who absolutely, positively hate it. Zoinks!
I remember the day René called to tell me he and the awesome Lisa booked a Carnival cruise. I literally winced. Read about Mr. & Mrs. de L’s first (and probably final) Carnival cruise.
He also wrote a very informative piece about what to do with SkyMiles when an account holder dies.
Delta is now giving Medallions more control when it comes to Comfort+ upgrades.
If you didn’t read about the two-ish inflight features I’d love Delta to add, check out the post — and tell me if you think there’s anything missing to the inflight experience (especially tech-wise).
Speaking of which, here’s a little update on Delta’s free WiFi plans. (Some Spirit passengers didn’t even get an inflight experience this week.)
A couple of great sales worth mentioning: Target gift cards are 10% off all day Sunday, December 8. And, as of post time, Delta gift cards are 10% off through My Gift Card Plus!
China is enacting a strict ban on subway behavior. Should the US follow suit?
Amex Platinum cardholders: remember this month’s Uber Cash credit is $35 and should already be in your Uber account. And Amex Gold Card members — make sure to take advantage of this month’s $10 dining credit.
On the topic of credit cards, this post details the ones I’m actively using this month. Also, if you missed out on the 100,000 bonus Membership Rewards offer for the business flavor of the American Express Platinum card, there’s a new offer available: spend $20,000 and receive 75,000 bonus Membership Rewards points (for a total of at least 95,000 MR after spend).
Mileage-run wise, I found something for San Jose-area travelers. And a couple of decent Premium Select trips to Tokyo also popped up: one from MSP and another from RDU.
If you need MQM, MQS, or MQDs PQD, get in touch now with our friend Adam. He has a staff of people who professionally create mileage runs.
