A Delta Air Lines passenger infected with measles is suspected of spreading the virus to at least two other people thus far.
OPB reports the passenger arrived in Portland (PDX) on Delta #179 from Amsterdam (AMS) on Saturday, October 12.
Ugh. A person with a highly contagious virus spent more than 10 hours with fellow passengers aboard a 5200-mile flight.
“Neither of (the new cases) had been fully vaccinated against measles,” notes KGW 8’s Christina Kempster. “The previously diagnosed individual had recently spent time in countries where measles is common and had not been immunized against the virus.”
If you or anyone you know were aboard DL179 on October 12 or at PDX between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM that day, you’re urged contact health officials.
