I kinda like this one but not so much in coach. Yes the E Basic one is cheap and under my 4CPM (cents per mile – for elite points) goal but the main cabin coach one is a bit too high. Plus, if you have ever tried to get an upgrade out of SFO, you know that is not simple even with a regional upgrade applied. But the first class run is well under my 8CPM goal price and worth considering.
There are scattered dates over the next few months you can run this and it works either way from San Francisco or from Dallas. You can have some time in both the SFO Amex Centurion as well as the Dallas Amex Centurion if you have the Amex personal or business card(s)! Or, visit the very nice SFO Delta Sky Club.
Here are the numbers:
Cost: $218 in E basic or $289 in main cabin coach
6,132 MQMs at 3.6 CPM via DTW 2x
Cost: $666 in First Class
9200 MQMs at 7.2 CPM via DTW 2x
Book direct on Delta.com and choose flights via DTW
Not bad for a quick 24 hour out and back run. Would clearly be better on a weekend but only seeing weekday dates though December 2019. What do you think of this fun run?
